Reading through text messages with a fake smile so his family wouldn't see his pain. His friend who used to be closer than a sister was texting him. The text messages she used to send were amazing and the conversations were deep and meaningful. They loved each other. But now he looked at his phone she told him she didn't trust him. He has changed she said and not for the better she had to add. All the butterflies that she gave him quickly turned to ash. His heart beat in his throat from her words. Yet she kept saying them because she knew it was hurting him... Stabbing into him like daggers.  He still smiled through tears. He was going to be happy. He quit texting back. He went into the bathroom and opened a new bottle of sleeping pills. He poured all but two of them in his hand. The two remaining pills would stay together in that bottle forever, just like he and she should have. He swallowed the pills and hit the floor. Three hours later his mom came to tell him that it was time to eat, but he was long gone. She held the boy who had already turned ice cold to her chest and cried over him. The loss of a son. The girl came. She had seen the ambulances from across the street where she lived, and went to check to see if his grandfather who was in fading health had an accident. She got there just as the paramedics pried the dead boy from his mother. She saw him. She saw the story they had lived together. She knew it was all her fault. She went home and took all but two sleeping pills in a bottle. Those two pills would stay together like she and he should have. They buried them next to each other. Forever they would stay close to each other, but not together. For each was in their own bottle in a way. Never to be completely together, close but not together, like he and she should have been.
