Chapter Six

"Hello?" an unfamiliar voice says. He opens the door wider to reveal a blonde boy with ocean blue eyes. Behind him is Alex.
"Hey guys," Alex says. "I was just showing Ashton around and thought he'd like to meet y'all. Ashton, this is Max and Ashley. Ashley and Max, this is Ashton, the new kid." "Hi," Ashton says shyly. "Hello," Ash says. "Wassup," I say. He blushes at that. Ummm does he think I'm cute or something? "Hey, where's Luke?" Alex asks. "Right here," we hear. "Hey dude, meet Ashton. Ashton this is my friend Luke. Luke this is Ashton. I'm showing him around." "Yo," Luke says. "Nothin much," Ashton says. They should get along alright. "Hey Luke," I say and he looks in my direction. "Aye!" He says and moves around Ashton and jumps on me and tickles me. "Ah! No! Stop!" I laugh. He chuckles and says, "Nope. Not this time." I laugh until I start crying and gasping for air, then he stops. My breath comes in short and I dry my eyes. "You always do that.... gonna give me a heart attack one day," I joke. I punch him playfully on the arm and Ashton stares. "Are you two brother and sister?" "No! Ash is his sister," I say while pointing at Ashley. "Okay good," he says. What was that about? "So guys we'll see y'all later. Bye!" Alex says as he walks away with Ashton. "That is one weird kid," I say. "Yup," Luke and Ash agree. "Oh hey I'll be back later. I gotta go do some stuff. Bye!" Luke says as he walks out the door.
"Soo.... What's the plan for today? Oh wait- Where's Charley?" Ash asks. "I don't know what we are going to do yet and Charley went home while you were still asleep." I say. "You know how you like to sleep in on weekends." "Oh yea.... wish I coulda told her bye." "Ah it's ok. She wanted to let you sleep anyways. Hey, how about we go outside somewheres today?" I ask. "Sure, sounds fun." "Ok, go get dressed and meet me outside." I walk out the door and she goes get ready. I walk to the front door and sit on one of the couches and play on my phone while waiting.
-10 minutes later-
Ashley walks from around the corner, ready to go. We walk outside and  go to Macy's and look at the clothes. "Oh look at this!" Ash says. I turn around and look at what she has in her hands. I'm speechless. It's a beautiful red dress. "I- wow... For who?" "For you! You know how Luke likes the color red! He would love you in this." I stare at her with my mouth wide open. "Wait hold up. You think Luke would only like me if I wore this dress? I don't want to do that. But I'll get it if you want me to. It's nice. But it's not like he'll take me on a date or anything......" "You don't know that! Maybe he will. Just wait. I think he likes you." I smirk. "Oh really?" "Yes! Come on. You need shoes to match with this." Ashley drags me to the shoe department and we start looking for shoes. After what felt like hours of looking, trying on shoes, and just playing around, we finally found a pair that we both liked. They were a deep red with rhinestones on them and they sparkled in the light. "Now we need earrings and necklace to go with it." I put the shoes in the box and we go to the jewelry department. I immediately spot some crystal earrings that are very, very beautiful. "Ash, look at this!" She comes and gasps. "It's beautiful..." she says. I can tell she's speechless. I look at the price tag and my jaw drops. "$100?!" "What?!" Ash says. "It can't be that much!" "Oh it is," the clerk says. "Sorry girls, if y'all wanted these earrings it's that much." I can tell the lady felt sorry for us. "Oh well," I say. "It's no big deal. We can always find some later." "Yeah... I guess you're right," Ashley says. We walk to the counter and pay for our things and walk out the store.
"Want to go to YogurtLand?" Ashley asks. My eyes widen and I shake my head yes vigorously. She knows I love that place and starts to laugh. We keep walking and I see it up ahead. I start running and she runs after me. "Wait up!" Ashley yells. "Nope!" I laugh. I get to the door and go inside, not waiting for Ash. "You always do this.." she says once she's inside. "You know I love this place" "Yeah, but you don't have to act like a 5-year-old every time we see it," she says. I sigh. "Fine. I promise I won't. Let's get some cups and fro-yo and leave, ok?" We hear the door open and I turn to see who it is. It's Luke. "Hey, Luke," I say. "Hey big bro," Ashley says. "Hey Max and Ashley. What's up?" "Nothing, just about to head back to the dorms. We stopped for this." I pick up a cup and get my favorite flavors, strawberry and red velvet. I add topping to it and put it on the scale, waiting for Ashley to finish hers. Suddenly, my phone rings and I answer it.
"Hello?" I say. "Hello? Is this Max Guillory?" The woman says. "Yes, this is her." "Miss, I regret to inform you, but your mother has passed away. She had a heart attack."
Everything went black as I passed out.
