Dear Juliet, I don't know if I should give you more space or something. I just want to be friends still.

I went to the hospital to pick up my pay check. I ran into my mom, who was doing her rounds and when she saw me, she smiled.

"Hey sweetie!"

"Hey mom." I smiled back.

"Hey honey, I have to get back to work but I'll see you at home, okay?" I nodded. She walked away.

"I have a question for you!" I blurted out. She turns around and walks up to me.

"What about?"

"I overheard Scott talking to Stiles, that Stiles was gonna be here for a tape player. Have you seen him?" I played with my fingers.

"Follow me." I walked beside her and she wanted me to wait outside for a few seconds.

"You find a tape player?" I heard Stiles voice. What if he doesn't want to talk me? After all I did.

"No. But I found someone looking for you." My mom said as she opened the door and I walked in. My mom left us alone in the room together.

"I heard you almost got killed." I told him.

"I heard you almost got killed."

"You okay?" I played with the strap of my bag.

"Brunski punched me in the face. Turns out he was a serial killer." My eyes widen. He got hurt? I saw the bruise he had on his cheekbone.

"Oh." Really? That all I'm gonna say? I really suck at talking.

"Yeah. What about you?" He pointed at me.

"We almost got set on fire." I told him as I clapped my hands together.

"Everyone okay?"

"Basically. Liam is a little shaken up, but they're okay."

"You okay?" I looked at at him.

"I'm okay." I lied to him. He walks closer to me.

"No you're not." His voice deepens.

"You were right about me dating Derek along. Once a cheater always a cheater, right?" I told him. There was just silence. I got anxious. "You know, I'm gonna go." I told him as I pointed at the door.

"You don't have to."

"I should go." I made my way to the door.

"Okay." As I touched the knob and turned it, the door didn't open. My mom locked us in here.

"It's locked."

"Why would she lock the door?" Stiles walks to the door and tries to open it. "Uh... Hey, Melissa?"

"Ma?" I pound on the door. "I could break it you know."

"How about you not? I already owe this hospital enough money." We walked away from the door. We looked at each other.

"Why would she lock the door?" I whispered.

"Maybe she didn't mean to."

"You don't just accidentally lock a door. You need a key to lock it."

"Okay, well, maybe, she wasn't thinking, exactly. Or wasn't thinking it through. You know, people sometimes do things without thinking them through."

"She's not stupid." My voice softens.

"No, even smart people can do stupid things. You know, 'cause they think that it's the right thing. And I don't think we should hold it against her, you know, for the rest of her life! Especially because she's tried apologizing hundreds of times through texts and voicemails." I knew that he was talking about him and I.

"Is she gonna keep begging?" I walked closer to him.

"She might." Stiles said he looked into my eyes.

"She knows I hate being in small rooms."

"Like the other day?"

"I hate waking up in the Malias den."

"You hate me?" I got the guts to look at him.

"I can't hate you, you're Stiles Stilinski, you're impossible to be hated. Anyways, I like you, Stiles. I like you a lot." My eyes widen. I told him I liked him. Oh lord, I told him. Oh no. Mission abort! He leans in and kisses me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and I wrapped mine around his neck.

"I can work with that." He whispers to me. I gave him a smile. "I like you too."

"I thought you liked Lydia?" I asked him.

"Did you really think I would say that im in love with my best friend for years in front of her? kinda blurted that out. I mean, finally my 10 year plan worked." We heard the lock beginning to unlock. We look at to see my mom smile and walked away.

We went in to get my tape recorder and we to Stiles' house to go and listen to a tape that he had. Stiles had played it over 10 times, listening to Lydia's grandmothers voice. I stared at the recorder and he played one last time and pressed pause.

"This didn't happen at Eichen House." Stiles told me.

"But where did she go?" I asked him.

"That's what we need to find out." Stiles went back and pressed play and heard the tape again. I heard Lydias grandmother saying to Burnski that he'll won't be taking her anywhere.

"That's it. That's where it is. Play it again and turn it up." Stiles rewind the tape and turned up the volume. we heard them talking, and i heard the recorder player. "It's the record player." I turned off the tape.

"What record player?"

"The one in the lake house, in the study." I turned to him.

"So she escaped from Eichen House to go back to listen to a record player?"

"Well, she was like Lydia, right? She was a Banshee?"

"Yeah, but only once. She predicted Maddy's death and then just spent decades trying to predict something else."

"Maybe she finally did. And what if this time, it wasn't just one death, it was a lot of deaths?"

"Like the dead pool." He whispered.

"What if all those years ago, Lorraine predicted it? And she knew there was something in the study that could stop it?"

"Then we're going to the lake house." We got up from our chairs and walked out of the room and ran to his car to go the lake house.
