Sophie x Snape Fanfiction

The Dance

*Please remember that this is in a timeline where Severus is still in school and we'll pretend that Sophie is in this timeline too! P.S they are both 6th years

It was about 2:55 in the afternoon, and school has just ended. Severus Snape was just outside in the paved courtyard, having lectured by James Potter. Lily Evans trying to make James stop although she no longer supported Severus, but still nothing worked.. Sadly, Sophie Baker was nowhere to be seen to help out Severus. She would usually be kept in detention because Professor McGonagall would keep her in it without reason except for Sophie not paying attention in class.. but Sophie really did want to help.
     After a while, Severus has just gained a new scar on his face by James and he had walked back to the Slytherin common room to clean up and finish some homework. Luckily, Sophie had finally got out of detention.
     "Hey Sev, is everything alright?" Sophie asked. She just walked in and only saw the back of his head and didn't notice his scar until she sat from the sofa opposite from him. "Oh no, was James bullying you again?"
     Severus was still looking down by the fireplace. He seemed like he didn't want to talk.
     "No. I'm used to him bullying me... I don't care anymore."
     "Sev-"
     "It's not James. I called Lily a mud blood again." Severus sighed.
     "It's OK, jut forget her. You know that they're dating already anyways... I mean it's her loss. I don't know what she sees in that James boy..."
     Severus quickly ignored her and grabbed his brown leather bag and pulled out a withered copy of 'Advanced Potion Making'. He seemed to be working on some homework. He still stayed silent.
     "Come on Sev. Don't be that way. I know that you really liked her, but you have to move on.. Plus you know the dance is tomorrow and James and Lily are going together.. you might as well just ask somebody to make her jealous, if you want her back so badly. I'm not even going." said Sophie.
     "I know you're trying to help.. I appreciate it but it's not going to work anyway. I tried to apologise to Lily but she won't ever forgive me!" Severus said in frustration. Sophie sighed.
     "Ok. I'll be in my dorm if you need anything."
