Chapter 2 | A Great Hero

[Hayami]

Classes have ended and the students made their way out of the room. Only Hayami was left in the classroom, along with Izuku. The green-haired teen was scrolling through his phone, while the brunette was sweeping the floor. Their homeroom teacher gave her the task to sweep the classroom floor before she leaves. She could've refused, but the teacher's sinister look made her agree.

"Aya-chan, I can stay if you like. I can even help you with cleaning." Izuku offered, putting his phone down, taking his 'For the future: Hero Analysis #13' notebook in his hand.

Hayami shook her head, "No, its fine. I know you have to take your notes about the new hero Mt. Lady, right?"

"Yeah, but–"

Before Izuku could continue, someone snatched the notebook from his hand.

Hayami turned to Izuku, wondering why he'd stopped talking all of a sudden. Her breath hitched when she saw Katsuki and his so-called "friends."

"We're not done yet, Deku," Katsuki sneered, holding Izuku's notebook in his hand. His "friends" trailed behind him. He read the notebook's title and his sneer seemed to have expanded.

"'For the future,' for real!? Goddamn, Midoriya!"

Izuku stood up from his seat, "Give that back!" He said.

Hayami dropped the broom and went towards them. She tried to grab the notebook from Katsuki's hand, but he pushed her away and used his quirk to blow up the notebook.

Izuku shrieked at the sight of his newly-charred notebook.

Katsuki ignored the trembling Izuku and threw the notebook out of the window with insouciance. Hayami tried to reach out for the notebook, but she didn't manage to catch it on time.  Hayami stared at the notebook, that landed in the fish pond below, with wide eyes.

'That's the notebook Izuku has worked hard on. All the efforts he poured into that notebook is now near useless, all because of Katsuki!'

Hayami gripped the railings so hard, her knuckles turned white.

She can hear the ash-blonde speaking, telling Izuku his point on why the hero school isn't a place for him.

"Basically what I'm saying is, forget about getting into Yuuei, Little Nerd."

Hayami turned around, ignoring the tears that were welling in her eyes. She saw Katsuki's hand clasp onto Izuku's shoulder, making him startled.

Hayami, with all her might, pushed Katsuki away from Izuku. The arrogant teen stumbled and glared at the brunette. "Don't you dare lay a finger on him!" Hayami threatened.

"Tch. Same goes for you bitch-face. Don't even bother going to Yuuei. Weaklings like you don't deserve to be on the top!" Katsuki taunted, stomping over to Hayami, making their faces inches apart.

She ignored the distance between them and scoffed at his words. "Who are you, to tell me what I should not do!? You're not the only one who's dream is to become a hero! And you know what? Izuku is more of a hero than you!" Hayami snapped, her hands balled into fists.

Katsuki vigorously grabbed the girl by her collar. Izuku told Katsuki to stop, but he was just ignored.

"What the fuck did you say, bitch-face?! I'll be so good I'm going to surpass All Might himself! I'm so much better than all of you!" He gritted his teeth, "Here's an idea. If you both wanna be a hero so bad, there is actually a way. If you believe that they're holding your quirk over in the next world. . . The two of you should just dive off the rooftop!"
