Teldryn
I awoke with Jupiter's head resting on my chest. We shared a tent through the night and we were cuddled together. I ran my fingers through her short black hair and rubbed her ear softly. She purred and yawned softly, opening her eyes and looking up at me."Good morning, buddy." She smiled and looked up at me and ran her fingers through my Mohawk. I had taken off my helmet last night, as a symbol of trust. Never seen anyone so surprised before. I told you lass, I'm fucking sexy.
"Good morning, short person." I sat up and looked at her, she was pretending to be furious, which was adorable, and scoffed at me, "ready to go? The sooner we get to the stones, the better." I patted her leg before getting up and pulling my armor on.
"Yes, I'll grab the supplies." Jupiter pulled on her armor quickly before leaving the tent to round up the food and gold. It's funny watching her do stuff because she's so short. Probably only 5'6, at the most. So, I'm about a foot taller than her.
After we picked everything up we headed out, the sun was just rising over the horizon. According to Jupiter we were more than halfway to sun stone. If so, we should be able to reach the stone before the sun reaches its highest point. Jupiter and I joked about the Daedric princes while we walked.
"So Clavicus wanted you to kill Barbas, for an axe?"
"Yes, I told him to got fuck himself." She said proudly.
"I would tell him the same thing, I mean... Why would you want someone to kill your dog. That's pretty... Vile." I elbowed her shoulder and she laughed.
"That's horrible!" She crossed her arms.
"I know, I hate myself now. But it was worth it." I saw the stone in the distance. "Two down, about to be three." I unsheathed my sword and summoned the fire bolt spell into my right hand.
"Be careful, I might not be able to save you if you get knocked on your ass again." Haha, very funny.
We walked up to the stone and the whole thing repeated itself. She broke the barrier and a thing rose from the water after the minds of the "workers" were released. It was easier to kill this one. I cut it open from throat to stomach with a single swing of my blade, and Jupiter smashed it's head in effortlessly. It wasn't a pretty sight watching as its organs slowly slipped out of its body and splashed into the water, but damn was it satisfying! Two more raised from the pond nearby and my stomach dropped. I burnt one to a crisp using my magic as Jupiter took care of the other, every swing from her war hammer twisting and distorting its body even more. Once they were dead we looked at each other, our armor smeared and stained with their black blood.
"Good job, killer."
"You two, dragon slayer." She shook her head and we examined the stone for any damage and didn't find any.
"To Raven Rock?"
"To Raven Rock." I agreed and we set out again. "So, why are you so kind?" I asked when we had walked around ten miles.
"It was how I was raised, at first. My parents taught me to love Mara and carry her kindness in my heart. Then they taught me to be a warrior. To use my steel if my words fail. No one is ever fully evil, unless born by evil themselves. Everyone has a spark of light, of love in them... It just grows smaller as the dark takes hold of them, but it never truly disappears." She looked up at me, "like the stars and the sun. The sun may come and push them away, but they're still there." I hummed thoughtfully, listening to her words.
"My father was a wise man, he had a way with words. People would always listen when he spoke." I looked at her. "You're the same, wise and good with words."
"Tell me about him?"
"He had a special way of seeing the world, especially the stars. He loved them." I smiled as I talked, "One day, we were sitting on a hill. He was pointing out the constellations when he turned to me and said; "Son, I believe that every star holds part of someone's soul, and that a star only fades when its mortal brother passes. Then another brother is born, and the star takes on the light of the new soul. The constellations hold the souls of our ancestors. Respect them, for they will always guide you home." And I did. I respected the stars and they have lead me to Solstheim, and to you, strange little dragon." I nudged her arm, and she nudged back, "he would've loved you."
"He raised a good man. I would've loved to meet him too. To thank him for teaching these things to you. He'd be proud of you, Teldryn."
"Your parents would have been very proud of you too. They raised an amazing woman. You have strength in many ways." I slid my arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer to me, a small side hug.
It had taken us two days to get to Raven Rock, but it had to be done. After countless encounters with ash spawn and spiders, we were more than happy to be inside the walls of Raven Rock again. We wasted no time talking to Glover and the Captain of the Redoran Guard before cleansing the earth stone. With the guards by our side it was all to easy to kill the damned creatures, all four of them this time. They had fallen just as the sun started falling to the horizon.
"Let's stay at The Retching Netch for tonight, how's that sound?" I inquired.
"Sounds amazing. We could split up the gold while we're there. Plus, some good food and a proper bed wouldn't hurt." We quickly set into the Inn, which was unusually packed.
"They must've really liked the new sujamma recipe." She laughed and we headed downstairs to talk with Geldis. "How about we share a room tonight, it'll take less from our pockets."
"Sounds like a plan, madam."
