Beck's POV

I made my way into the most ridiculous hallway ever. Everywhere I looked there were hundreds of lockers, each one decorated more creatively than the last. I had documented a little about this school before coming that day and I also heard that kids there were very talented but I would've had never imagined something like this. If you'd dare to paint a graffiti in the school where I came from, you didn't get only expelled but maybe humiliated in many levels. You'd be a yankee for your family and your schoolmates would've might seen you as the weirdo kid. But that's where I came from. Where you must be a doctor, biologist, mathematical or some other kind of scientist. I used to suck at that school, man. I didn't like any subject there and everything seemed so fake and cold. I wanted to have fun, not study about whoever's life. And it all got worse 3 months ago when my parents got divorced and my sister decided to threw her life away and got too close to people not so friendly as a plan to catch their attention. Summing up, she's at California's Juvenile Center now and her existence is a taboo topic at home.

"Do you need help?" A smiley brunette girl was staring at me as my mind went back to earth.

"Sure.." I smiled back.

"What or who are you looking for?" She asked getting few steps closer to me.

I checked the paper that my mom had given me that morning. "I'd like to know where the principal's room is."

"Oh, I know where it is! I'll walk you there!" She sounded very excited about showing me where the room was but I didn't give it much of importance. We walked there on silence... a silence she broke quickly.

"I'm Tori!" The girl stopped walking and stood her hand to me. I looked at it and decided to shake it.

"Beck." I gave her a friendly smile and kept walking to make her walk again.

"Are you new here?" Tori really wanted to know about me and even though I didn't fancy speaking when I am nervous I did it anyway cause I didn't want to look rude.

"I am." It sounded too cold.

"Are you from USA? You have a cu- different accent..." Her face lighted up a little. I'm pretty sure she was gonna say 'cute'. Really? Ugh.

"I'm from Canada, in fact." She smiled thinking I didn't notice it.

"That's incredible!" Here it went her excitement again. Tori was nice and I liked her but I was too anxious about my first day to talk.

"Yeah, it is!" I showed the same excitement as her. She laughed and I laughed as well. That made me feel better.

"So... here it is." Tori pointed to a door written: 'Principal Eikner'.

"I'll see you around later." We both smiled as a goodbye and I opened the door.

I looked around the room. Everything was in a dark tone of green and beige. There were few chairs pointing to the desk of the principal and a large window on one of the walls. There also were three more chairs next to the door. I decided to sit down on one of the chairs infront of the desk.

I waited.

Five minutes later, a bald old man wearing very colorful and hippie style clothes came in the room singing a song that I thought it was from a comercial on tv. He said something about a pair of scissors and walked to the Principal's desk, opened up a drawer and grabbed a few. "Oh, hey." He winked at me smiling and left singing again. I kept quiet. Weird.
