Awkward

Natsu POV

So I decided not to get Lucy anything and just head back to camp. I don't want to make things awkward.

I get back and see Lucy is really happy to see me. Overly happy but I don't bother to ask why.

"Hey Natsu, how was your trip through the village" Lucy asks me.

"It was alright but I didn't do much" I say as coolly as possible.

Lucy looks at me as if she was expecting something to happen but it ends up just turning into awkward silence.

"You liiiiiike each other" Happy says practically coming from nowhere.

"Shut up Happy" Lucy and I say at the same time, making things even more awkward.Yay, just what I wanted.

Lucy POV

This silence is so uncomfortable. "Hey, why don't we go have dinner in the village instead of staying here" We all agree and head off.

Happy must have lied to me, Natsu didn't bring me back anything let alone admit any sort of love to me. What if Natsu doesn't love me? What if Happy has given me false hope?

"Hey luce" Natsu says interrupting my thoughts. "How about here? It looks like it could be nice"

We head in and have dinner. Not much is said mainly because Natsu and Happy are stuffing their faces with food while I get lost in my own thoughts.

I think I might have gotten too lost in my thoughts because next thing I know all three of us are back at camp. Natsu and Happy are fast asleep on the other side of the tent so I decide to get some sleep for a busy day tomorrow.

Natsu POV

It is around midnight when I wake up abruptly for no real apparent reason. I sit up and see that Lucy has finally fallen asleep. I lay back down but then I start to think about how Lucy has been acting real strange since I had come back from the village earlier. I sit back up and look at her again.

This time she is shivering. I quietly stand up and go lie down next to her. Feeling the warmth of my body, she stops shivering and moves as close as she can get. Its nice being this close to Lucy and her soft, silky hair. Even in her sleep, her smile is radiant.

I whisper to her something that only I can hear. "Lucy please love me"
