"Oh diddly damn," I sighed as I rushed over to Lyss.
She'd already fallen backward onto the pavement. She lay there for a minute. I grabbed her hand to pick her up and I started lifting her up when she fell again, taking me down with her.
"Jeez Lyss," I sighed, brushing myself off.
She didn't answer she was staring at the person standing in front of us.
"So sorry," They said, as they helped both of us up.
I knew why Lyss was staring.
"Cody," She said.
"Lyss?" He asked.
He looked to me.
"Bennett?" He added.
"Hey," I said.
"Oh umm hi, I didn't know you were here." Cody stammered.
"Yeah, we go to the University here," I said.
"The Creative Arts one?" He asked.
"Umm yeah," Lyss muttered.
"Oh, um, me, too," He mumbled.
Oh no. No no no no no. Cody cannot go here. No no no. Not happening.
"Umm, do you guys want to get coffee?" He asked.
"We just got some," Lyss said blankly, staring at him.
"Oh um, okay, okay, yeah, I'll," He stuttered.
"Um, here's our building," Lyss interrupted, grabbing a piece of paper out of her pocket and writing the address on it.
"Okay," He said.
"Okay," I replied.
"Bye," We said in unison as we went our own ways.
He was back. And Lyss? Well, she wasn't skipping anymore.
