"It's okay!it's just another nightmare " I hushed Katie.

"He is  coming for me sarah! He is coming.... he will bring more......"  she sobbed .
She
soon  realised that she was dreaming and then took a deep breath.
"No one's coming.  No one's gonna harm you dear.. I'll protect you!" The words came out automatically.
Though I didn't knew why I said, I actually meant every word of it.

Katie is bounded to me and I can sense her fears and feelings most of the time. It's like she's a bit part of me who is always there. Ever since I gave her my blood in large excess to save her from the sanguine vampires.

Flashback.....

It was an year ago. It was a peaceful evening., I had been for a jog to the other side of the Floodwood town which is very peaceful especially at nights . I had just enrolled myself into a high school a few days back then,to kill time and to turn down the suspicions of neighbours about me. When I was passing through a quiet street , I found flickering lights from a house or a big house enough to be called as a mansion which was too far from the main street. Out of curiosity, I Thought to look into this old mansion. But when I stepped into the gate, I found dead bodies everywhere.  That was enough for me to awaken my instincts. There had been nearly 27 dead bodies. I could see that it was a massacre. Heaps of bodies of innocent children holding dolls in their hands and cute dresses stained with blood were too much to see.
A little boy whose face turned completely pale as the sanguine  had sucked out the every last bit of blood from him. I closed my eyes as I couldn't see it anymore.

For a second I thought.,I  found a movement in the right side of this mansion. From what I could say was this mansion was probably an orphanage. I tried to concentrate towards the movement only to find out that it was a sanguine feeding off another innocent girl who was  screaming to save her from its wrath.

It was a  old man who looks 40 or so but actually a lot older or to be more precise sanguine vampire who is deadly immortal  (maybe hundreds of years old) who feeds off innocent humans for blood and its power.  At first he thought that I was another sanguine as I'm a part sanguine. So he welcomed me to join him.
I thought for a while. Either  I can just walk away or fight for the ones I don't even know...... I looked at the helpless girl in front of me,begging for mercy. That helplessness of  hers reminded me of.....myself .

No....I just couldn't walk away! My father says that a warrior should never give up. He must fight for justice until his last breathe.

If I let this human die today, I'd always have a guilt that I didn't even try .

For the sake of that humanity, which I can never have I made up my mind to help.
I let a heavy sigh.
I prepared myself for it. I didn't had any practice in fighting since 2 years I'd runaway from Valenoria. But then , I had to save this girl who'd probably die if I wouldn't step in. I had to save her at any cost. ..Even if that means to kill this merciless creature. ...
I thought of the ways to kill a sanguine.

In the  royal academy, they had told us about the ways to kill a sanguine.
Burn them, slash them,stake them with silver or twist their necks.
