The dawn broke out sooner than expected. The thick blanket of clouds hid the moon and the air was heavier and colder than ever.

Something is surely changing.

As long as I remember, Melissa's  house was in the middle of the forest. The huge redwood trees made it  more difficult to locate her place.

The bats were hanging around the trees, few flying around my head and few just glowing their red eyes.

As I was teleporting,in distant place I sensed few wolves.

The last thing I want is to have a fight with them now.

Rushing from that place, I landed up in a unknown place. Wandering for few miles, I saw smoke coming out of somewhere..

I had never been here. This place had something strange aura. Something dark...

After walking for a while, I found an old cottage.
To my curiosity I slowly tip toed towards the window.

The window was a bit unclean. To be precise very unclean.

The spider webs were hanging and the dust covered the whole glass. It seemed as if the house has been unused since years. But if nobody stays here, then the smoke...

Something is surely nasty.

I took out my clean handkerchief, and wiped out the large window. Then I climbed up the roof and peeked into the window hanging inverted.

The house was compact with things overloaded.

There was no one in sight. The window was huge enough so that I could break in.

I jumped into the house and scrutinized the place. The place was all dusty but there was warmth. There was a dining table with all plates and glasses.

There was some fresh wine in the clean glass.

Someone surely was here a while ago.

The hall had a small broken chandelier which was lightened up.

The house was modest with limited luxury materials, but it had more storage things.

Large broken cupboards, tables and chairs, small lights, broken crockery, and few dead plants inside.

There was one large cupboard upon which a white dusty cloth was thrown.

I withdrew it to find one huge mirror upon it.

I was standing right in front of the mirror, yet couldn't see my own self. That's the life of a vampire.

Lifeless...

Sometimes I wished my life had been like that of a human....

A simple life, with a simple house, family and growing up old and die.

Taking small steps ahead, I opened the cupboard. It made a loud creek sound.

The dust flew inside my eyes. Blinking away, I inspected the cupboard. Old torn clothes of women, few unnecessary plants, herbs and weeds and some ancient books. Nothing important.

Opening the drawer, I found papers and a wooden box.

Something useful.

I grabbed them, folded and tucked inside my shirt.

As I turned to leave, I just wondered what must be in the wooden box.

The box's opening was arched up and then locked. It was an elegant box, carved in some unrecognizable ancient text.
