"Matt! David!"
"Mum!" Matt groaned "We didn't trip!"
"Why can't one of you boys wear the scarf?" Sarah Jane Smith sighed, the maroon, blue, gold, and cream striped scarf was wrapped around both their necks, making them work extra hard to not trip. The scarf had formerly been their grandfather's, Tom Smith, and had given it to Matt on his birthday, but it was several feet too long, even for Tom.
For David, already tall for his age, the scarf was spread out and merely hung on his thin shoulders.
For Matt, however, who had yet to hit the same growth spurt David was going through, the scarf was crowded onto his neck and constantly slipped above his neck, covering his mouth and nose.
"It's much too long for that!" David chastised her "It'll be stepped on!"
Sarah sighed and gathered up the remaining bits of then scarf that was on the ground and tucked it into David's shopping bag, stuffing it in between the books. She wished John was there, then she could at least split them up.
But she couldn't. John was at the ministry working , and if she did let David off on his own, he would become distracted by Merlin knows what.
She sighed, "Alright," she rubbed her forehead "How's about we get Matt's wand? But don't-!"
The boys took off at a clumsy run, much faster than she could ever go.
"-Run."
OOO
"Sammy! Come on, hurry up!"
"Well maybe I would if you hadn't given me your bags!"
"Oh, um right." Dean slowed so Sam could catch up.
"Well?" Sam asked irritatedly "You can have these back!" he shoved the bags at Dean.
"Oof," Dean grabbed the bags from his little brother before he could hit him again "how many books do we need for first year-"
Then, in a rather amazing spectacle of flying books and two boys, one with a leather jacket, the other, a trench coat, Dean ended up flat on his stomach.
He groaned "Watch where you're going, will you?"
"I'm terribly sorry, I'll help pick up your things..." The boy said breathlessly, trying to pick up all the books at once, and struggling under the weight.
Dean noticed his nervousness and said, "No man, it's fine, Sam will get it."
"What?!"
"I'm Dean, by the way."
The boy finally stood up, and they were met with brown hair, done up in a quiff, and blue eyes, darting every which way.
Dean held out his hand for the boy to shake, and he took it.
"Castiel, my names Castiel."
"Nice to meet you Cas." Dean smirked.
"No it's Casti-"
"Are you in first year, Cas?" Sam asked "Of Hogwarts I mean."
"Uh, yeah," He pulled his trench coat tighter around him, as if it would make him invisible "I am just looking for school supplies with my siblings." He seemed a bit miffed with this fact and Sam knew how he felt, Dean certainly made it hard enough. So he said, "You can tag along with us, we're in first year too." and he watched triumphantly as the shy boys face lifted.
OOO
"Leadsworth, London, not that different to me." Eleven year old Amelia Pond Sat down at one of the small tables of The Leaky Cauldron.
"Not true." Her best friend, River Song, tried to convince her.
"How?"
"Well, for one thing... London has-" Rory stopped and stared at the door for a moment, "London... has Harry Potter.
Amy turned and stared in astonishment at a rather skinny looking boy with unruly black hair and round glasses that was standing next to a giant of a man that seemed to have a bit of trouble coming in the door.
"Should we say hello?" Amy questioned "All those adults up there and not a single person he'll see during his school year... He's gotta be eleven by now, hasn't he?"
"Yeah, let's go.
Rory lead the girls towards the boy and pushed to the front of the crowd.
