"Welcome to Platform nine and three quarters Matt!" David said as Matt stared in awe.

Students scurried around trying to locate friends and family or chase down pets, or standing around, hugging their mothers or cleaning up a dropped suitcase. And in the thick of it all, a great scarlet train, The Hogwarts Express.

"Oh! There's Donna!" David exclaimed "Can I go and look for a seat with her?" He turned to their father.

"Of course, you go on ahead," He pulled them both into a hug before saying "just remember to explain the rules for Matt's time-turner to him after dinner.

"How do you know I'm going to be in Gryffindor?" Matt asked as David ran off toward the sarcastic redhead.

"A good feeling," his dad smiled "now go! You don't want to miss the train, because I'm not going to drive you!"

                                             OOO

"Now do behave, mother trusts you won't make a mess of things like you usually do".

Eleven year old Sherlock Holmes rolled his eyes "Of course, brother dear, when do I not?"

"Mm" Mycroft obviously didn't agree. "I just want you to make friends Sherlock.

He was just about to reply with a rather rude retort when two boys, a first and second year by the looks of it, ran past them at high velocity. Mycroft jumped, startled, then angrily stared after them "first years" he grumbled, annoyed.

   "One was a second year".

   "Shut it".

   Sherlock chuckled.

"Now go and find a compartment yourself, I'm a prefect this year and have to-"

"Sit at the front I know, it's not like I heard about it all summer" Sherlock interrupted him dryly.

Mycroft gave a small hmph and stalked off toward the front of the train, while Sherlock entered through the nearest door.

The hallway in between the compartments and the window was a bit narrow, annoying Sherlock to no end as he struggled to find an empty one. It seemed that avoiding the atrocious amount of giggling girls was impossible. Until he found one lonely little compartment with next to no one in it.

   Next to no one.

   How charming.

The boy was sprawled out on the seat, obviously sleeping, and his back was toward Sherlock as he sat down on the opposite seat. So he couldn't see the boys face, and the only thing Sherlock could deduct was that he had blonde hair and was extremely short. He really hoped the boy would stay asleep until the train stopped at Hogwarts. But, no such luck existed for him, apparently.

It was a mere two hours into the ride, and the candy trolley had come and gone, (Sherlock had not bought anything) when the boy woke up.

It was a wonder how he had slept for so long, was it insomnia?... nightmares perhaps?

The boy turned around, his eyes still closed, as if still trying to grasp those last few moments of sleep, but Sherlock examined his other features.

Might have a sister from the way his hair is parted, she obviously tried to 'make it presentable' but he messed it up once she left. His mum had picked out his clothes, his pants are ironed perfectly. Perfect posture... father in the army?

The boys eyes blinked open, and Sherlock turned to look out the window at the rolling scenery.

"Oh, um, hello" The boy said groggily. Sherlock held a hand up in greeting, still staring out the window. "I guess I didn't see you there".

Sherlock turned and eyed the boy, "Well your eyes were closed".

"Right," he scratched the back of his head, uncertainty displayed on his face "right... I'm John by the way, John Watson" he held out a hand for him to shake.

Sherlock stared at it for a moment before taking it, noting the boys handshake was firm and confident. "Sherlock Holmes".

                                              OOO

"My name's Matt, but you can call me the Doctor" Matt smiled childishly

   "Why?" Rory Williams asked.

The newly nicknamed boy shrugged "No idea, I thought of it on the car ride here, thought it sounded nice".

"I think it's a lovely idea," River Song said, sliding into compartment, having just put her uniform on "and may I just say, how wonderful it is to see such a handsome face this early in the fall? The boys at Madame Kovarians Orphanage are quite dull looking, to say the least".

The Doctor blushed and gave her a shy smile.

"River..." Amelia Pond chastised her as she entered the compartment, also wearing her robes, along with everyone else.

A brief knock came from the compartment door before it clattered open, which kind of defeated the purpose of knocking, thought the Doctor. "Have any of you seen a toad?" a girl with bushy brown hair and large front teeth asked, rather haughtily "A boy named Neville Longbottom has lost one".

The Doctor searched his memory for any sighting of a toad, but came up blank, apologizing, he offered to help.

The girl, whose name they found to be 'Hermione', declined. Then informed them of the short distance between them and the school.

About half an hour later, the Express squealed to a stop, pitching Rory, and almost the Doctor, out of his seat.

   Hogwarts.

*Fanfare plays* The moment we've all been waiting for!!! (Plus Hogwarts) And by that I mean Sherlock Holmes! He is a bit difficult to write as though, so I hope I get the hang of it. :)
