This is a story I wrote a fairly long time ago, but I decided to revise and update it and see what you guys think. I'll put a side note at the bottom for name pronunciation and such, and please just enjoy. C&CC always appreciated, although this certainly isn't my best work description wise. I think i'll write more, but only if you like it. :]

Along the outskirts of the silent seaside village that was Corata, The souls of the dead wandered aimlessly, screeching for life. A common sight for those who were born in there, but for those from outside of the village, these screams were the worst form of torture. A symphony of death, a concerto of unfulfillment.

The familiar sight of bloody, rotten corpses was what he awoke too. He stood quickly, brushing his hands through his smooth, charcoal black hair out of instinct. "No blood." he thought out loud. Whatever the hell had dragged him here had obviously intended to keep him alive, for the time being at least. From the look of things, he was about to become an animal's chew toy - the other bodies were heavily mutilated, some coated in a thin layer of ice. Meters away stood his sword, which seemed to have been embedded in the ground.

Judging by the immense pain in his back, the adrenalin injection he had administered before his capture had kicked in. It surged across him, breathing life into his agony stricken body. Inspecting the room, he saw a few ancient symbols scattered across the walls. For some reason, they seemed incredibly familiar. In fact, the whole room seemed similar; the deep feeling of déjà vu was unsettling, almost worrying. On further inspection, a purple glowing glyph appeared on the floor every couple of seconds, fading and reappearing repetitively.

A scream, A roar, A vision.

6 years ago, when he was only 13. This place was his sanctuary, the only place he could go for peace. The area itself was a place for the "Magically Adept" to hone their abilities, something that in future Orion would put to good use.

Then it came.

His conscience, it called itself. About 6ft tall, made entirely of bones and what seemed to be thick smog acting as it's joints. It's eyes were nothing more than glowing red lights. When he first saw it he was scared, but as it approached him, he felt bad for it. Confined in an underground cell like this, simply because it wasn't the same as the rest of the world. He soon befriended it, and it helped him grow and mature. Until one inevitable day....

"It's been too long Orion. Six years is it? I would have thought you would have visited more often." It hissed from the shadows.

"Show your self, fiend!" he bellowed out.

"If you wish" it replied. The room was filled with nothing but silence for a minute or so, but soon he heard the clack of bone against cold, solid rock. It became ever louder, until a set of fiery eyes emerged from a narrow corridor not far away. They stumbled ever closer, until every extreme of the creature was visible. The bone that composed it's body was spilt and moulded from the damp, and the once deep black smog had faded to a lifeless grey.

Evidently, it had noticed Orion's distraction, and charged hastily into him, knocking the air from his lungs. He retaliated instantly, kicking the right side of the creature's ribcage, which snapped without resistance. It gave a blood curdling scream and retreated.

"Not bad." It cackled. "But you know as well as I do, you can't compete with my magic." It finished, pointing a shattered finger at Orion.

Suddenly, an immeasurably cold feeling swept over him, but he did not let this break his concentration, and summoned his energy to telekinetically return his sword into his hand. A quick flick of the wrist caused it to tear from the ground, impacting solidly with his palm. With his cursed blade returned to him, the fight was more than evened out.

"Still using that disgraceful excuse for a weapon?" muttered Aako. "Six years and you haven't changed one bit" he continued mockingly. He made as to speak again, but Orion promptly cut him off.

"I haven't changed? How little you know. Of course, you were never particularly intelligent." He retorted, smirking. He could see the beast's fury growing, but he was not worried. "You want an example of what I have learned? Fine. CATCH!" He roared, ripping a dagger from the side of his trousers and launching it towards Aako. It hit him directly through his skull, rendering him immobile, but not quite dead.

Orion walked over to the motionless creature, and spat out blood. "I almost feel bad about this" He snarled sarcastically, jolting Aako's neck. The smoke which had been attaching his skull to his neck seemed to disperse, along with the rest of his body. He spat yet again, and headed for a small, cracked door at the other side of the room.

Orion gave a sigh of relief as he finally clambered out of the ruins. The sea air felt comforting against his skin. He inspected his body; His cloak had ripped clean in half, but he had many others, so he wasn't particularly bothered. But there was something on his mind.

The screaming had stopped.

His first instinct was to hide, but as he turned he came face to face with a woman. She could have been no older than 17, but she still emanated a sense of maturity.

"Run." She ordered. Orion swung round and instantly knew why. The souls had begun to advance at an alarming rate.

"Who the..?" he began, but she cut in.

"Semprini Fenerah, just run!!!!" she screamed, whipping a pistol from the side of her jeans and nailing a soul through the head. It shrivelled into nothingness momentarily, but simply repapered after a few seconds.

Orion took her advice and started to sprint, not even slightly weighed down by his gigantic sword. There was a quick flash of red, and Orion noticed Semprini was now beside him.

"Follow me." she told him, turning to a nearby building and knocking on the door loudly. "Open the hell up jackass, it's Semprini!" she hissed. The door swung open, revealing a relatively tall girl, around 15 or 16 years old. Her long blonde hair shimmered in the faint light that still showed on the horizon, and her eyes were a mystifying blue.

"You're a charming girl, you know that?" she joked, before moving to allow them in.

Once inside, the girl turned her attention to him.

"I'm Sparta, Sparta Feint." she said, extending a hand out and smiling madly. Orion reached to grab her hand, not averting his eyes from her smile, and felt a sharp prick.

"Agh!" he exclaimed, breaking his gaze and noticing a large crossbow hanging loosely from her fingertips.

"Oops, sorry!" she said, sounding very far off. She dropped the crossbow and shook his hand, completely ignoring the gaping hole she had left. The fuss had attracted Semprini, who promply rubbed her hand over his and the skin joined together, healing perfectly. "Thanks" he mumbled, as Sparta gently nudged him forward. He looked around the room slowly. It was quite large, and it took Orion a while to notice that lying on a sofa in the corner of the room was a boy and a girl, both of whom looked around 15 year old, entwined in each other and sleeping silently. "Alex and Georgia." whispered Semprini, smiling softly.

Georgia, who Orion assumed was the girl, had shoulder length dark ginger hair in a small pony tail. She was fairly short and petite in stature, all of which added up to her looking incredibly sweet.

Alex, the boy, was tall with well built muscles and chestnut brown hair. His arms were wrapped firmly around Georgia's waist, and were moving rhythmically with her breathing.

Semprini: "Sem-Pre-Knee"

Aako: Ah-Koh

Also, yes Calum, if you're reading this, I wrote it when I liked Georgia, and I think she makes a good character. So sue me xD
