CARL GRIMES
I REMEMBER HOW it was before. When we were younger and played games, games with the meaning to save the world and to kill either zombies or killers. But this is not a game, this is reality.
My eyes were glued on the baby in Carl's arms, the baby in my best friends arms. It was almost unbelievible that we had managed to keep her alive, how we all had managed to survive all these years.
Carl was always protective towards the ones he loves, espically Judith. She is the memory of Lori. Judy was looking a lot like her and the more she grows, the more of Lori is visible on her.
Though I know Carl cares about me, we are drifting apart. We no longer stay up at night and talk like we did before and at the prison. He barerly looks at me. It hurts, it truly does because it feels like I've done something wrong.
I sighed and moved from my position on the floor, walking up to Carl and gently shaking him awake.
"Carl? It's your watch" I said gently while his eyes fluttered open. He yawned and slowly nodded, sitting up with Judy in his arms while doing so.
"I can take her if you want" I said and he looked at me for a second and then slowly handed me the sleeping baby.
Once she was in my arms, I looked down at the small girl and smiled. Her dark hair had started to appear on her head, the same color as Loris and Carls. I could feel Carl's eyes on me, but I didn't care because it had been weeks since I held Judy in my arms.
"Goodnight Carl" I said, slowly sitting down and laying down on the floor. I took my jacket from beside me and wrapped it around Judith, not wanting her to be cold and get sick.
"Goodnight, Y/N" I heard Carl whisper. My eyes were closed and a small smile came upon my lips but it soon faded as sleep took over my body.
**
The cold woke me up, my body cold and shaking from it. Judith was no longer in my hands and I instantly sat up, looking around for her.
Nobody was in sight, no one was in the barn execpt me. My heart started to beat faster and I tried to stay calm.
"Carl?! Rick?! Maggie?!" I shouted, but nothing execpt the thunder was heard. Then I saw them.
Tears came into my eyes at the sight. They were all dead with a shot in their heads and cuts on their body. Maggie was laying on the floor, a huge pool blood on the floor and she was laying next to Glenn.
Rick and Michonne laid next to each other with Judith in between them. The I saw Carl.
He was sitting with his back against the wall, his blue flanel shirt red on his chest where a deep, knife cut was shown. His hat had fallen down onto the floor and the bullet wound was shown on his forhead.
"Carl" I whispered and walked up to his body, and taking his hand in mine before putting them onto his shoulders.
"Carl!" I scremed, trying to shake him awake even though I knew it was too late.
Tears rolled down my cheeks and I screamed. I screamed in agony of seeing the people I loved dead.
"Y/N, wake up!!" My eyes blinked open and I was met with a pair of blue ones. Tears were rolling down ny cheeks and the first thing I did was put my hands on Carl's cheeks.
"Y-You're alive" I whimpered and threw my arms around his neck. The words kept on repeating and I pulled him even closer.
"You're alive"
"I'm all right Y/N, I'm here" he whispered, running his hand threw my hair like he often did before.
"I'm sorry for being distant, but I knew that if I would lose you, I would die. You mean so much to me and I was scared" he explained
I looked at him and he used his thumb to gently wipe the tears away from my cheeks.
"I forgive you" I said and before I knew it, I leaned in and connected our lips.
I cared a lot a for Carl, and the moment felt right. When I realized what I was doing and I quickly pulled away.
"I..I'm sorry I don't-" I started but was cut off by a Carl. A laugh escaped his lips and then he planted his lips on mine.
They moved in sync and when we pulled away, our forhead touched and I smiled with my eyes closed.
