"Ah Miss Payton and Mr. Conner a great team. Maybe Miss. Payton will be able to help you rise your failing mark Mr. Conner" Mr. Smith said looking over the edge of his glasses.
Conner moaned. "Do I need to be reminded?"
"Well seeing your mark hasn't raised past a forty-eight in two weeks; yes."
When Mr. Smith walked to the next group Conner made blabbing noises mocking the teacher. It was hard not to laugh at his facial expressions but I managed while continuing to research. As Conner continued to rant on about Mr. Smith and his lack of human decency I was able to find more information about Robert Frost.
-He got so excited about selling his first poem that he popped the question; a little bit to early for the girls liking. When she said no he thought he had lost her and he thought about suicide.
-John F. Kennedy had a personal relationship with the well known poet.
-And this most famous poem is "The Road Not Taken"
Nudge. Nudge. "Conner" I poked him with the pen. It left a small black mark on his finger. Ops. In the short amount of time in-between writing my facts and his ranting somewhere along there he had fallen asleep.
There were a few grunts but no major progress, so I gave up early. My eyes drifted to the small pen mark on his index finger, then I kinda spaced out for awhile. I would say the entire class but some moment in between space I made the mark into a smiley face.
The lunch bell grabbed both of our attention.Unlike my fine recovery Conner had drooled. "Nice sleep?" I chuckled.
He quickly wiped his mouth. "Sorry for falling asleep on you."
I shrugged it off as we gathered our things. It was only the two of us left aside from Mr. Smith who I noticed watching us. "I can make it up after school, by the end of the day I should be all rested up" he suggested as we made our way to the congested halls.
"Yeah sure. And we could probably end up getting ahead so its not that bad."
"Great minds think alike" he grinned.
"Wanna sit together at lunch?" Conner asked as we shuffled through the crowd. I didn't even notice I was following him.
"Sure" I smiled.
We were currently sitting in the cafeteria; we being Conners friends Lucas, Will, AJ, Gerry and of course Conner and myself. The group was talking about Wills moms lack of touch with nature before Conner interrupted, "What the hell?"
Holding his sandwich his eyes were locked on the rough smiley face drawing I did. "When did-" I interrupted him.
"When I was trying to wake you up I kinda. And then it just turned into that."
Conner's straight face turned to a smile towards me. He opened his mouth to say something but AJ spoke first.
"You two banged?"
"No!" we both defended our selves.
The group looked at each other and started to laugh.
"They defiantly banged."
"If not soon."
"My boy finally got laid."
Both mine and Conner's faces were red from embarrassment. I went from eating alone, to this. And the topic didn't drop easy too, "You know Conner actually mentioned you before."
