Chapter 5

I’m running. I’m running into blackness. I see a door. I reach for it but I can’t get to it. The faster I ran, the further it went. I see Noah at the door. I try to scream his name. Nothing comes out. I try harder and harder. I hear footsteps behind me. The wolfie soldiers are gaining. I try to scream Noah’s name. Nothing. I scream for help. Nothing comes out. I scream louder and louder, still nothing comes out. All of a sudden Noah disappears. I stop. Big mistake. The soldiers grab my shoulders. The leader crushes my neck. I try to say something. Still nothing comes out.

“Vi? Vi?” I hear the soldiers say.

“Vi!!” Noah yelled into my ear. I gasped. I was drenched in sweat. I looked at Noah to see the look of worry in his eyes.

“What happened?” I whisper what energy I have left.

“You had a nightmare; I was trying to wake you up for ages now. Are you alright?” He looked me in the eye. I can see that he was really concerned.

“I’m fine. It was just a dream. I’m gonna go to the bathroom, while I’m in there can you order me a…” I took at the menu. “Some chicken and for dessert some chocolate cake.” Noah nodded as he let me through. I went into the bathroom and washed my face. I took of the rubber band on my wrist and tied my hair. I dried my face and took a look at the mirror. I saw my self looking back. I was surprised. I thought I would look different since I felt different. I brushed my teeth and used mouth wash. I put a mint into my mouth. I tucked my iPod and earphones into my pocket. I got out and someone almost hit my face with their fist. I moved away just before it hit me.

“Sorry” he said shrugging. I saw a familiar face.

“Oh my god! TY?!” I hugged him around his neck.

“Vi?! Wow it’s been such a long time huh? What like 3 years now?” he said smiling. He hugged me back. “Why are you going to Italy?” he asked with a hint of surprise in his voice. I didn’t answer. “Well, is Noah here?” he asked hoping that I would answer this time.

“Yeah walk by this aisle and you’ll see him, wow it’s so great to see you again!” Ty was short for Tyriq Matthews. He was one of the guys that Noah and I hung out with all the time. I haven’t seen him since I left to the camp. I was happy that I met him.

“Yeah, I’ll go and see him when I get back.” I can hear the happiness in his voice. As I went back to my seat Noah was holding my tray of food.

“Guess who I just met as I was coming out of the bathroom!” I said excitedly.

“Who?” he asked me with suspicion.

“Tyriq!!! I can’t believe that he’s here!” He looked surprised.

“What is he doing here?” he asked beginning to get excited.

“I don’t know but he said he would stop by our row when he gets out of the bathroom” I said with a big smile on my face. I realized that there was a TV on the seat in front of me. I unplugged my earphones and plugged them into the earphone holes next to the TV. I used the remote to change what I wanted to watch. As Ty came back, I saw him and Noah talk. I saw what I was looking for. It was my favorite TV show in the whole world, no matter how old it was. It was The Fresh Prince of Bel-air.  I selected episode 9 season 4. I stopped at episode 8. I watched as I ate. I looked through the corner of my eye and saw that Ty and Noah finished talking. I took out one ear. “What did you tell Ty?”

“I told him about how you and I began dating and made up a fake reason why we were going to Italy.” I nodded in approval. I was definitely impressed. Noah has always told the truth since the day he began to speak. I on the other hand lie every time I need to. “So what are you watching?”

“Fresh Prince” I replied.

“What channel” he asked with the remote ready in his hands.

“Channel number 79. Damn, we haven’t seen that show in a long time.” I said puffing out a breath of air. I leaned on Noah’s shoulder and drifted off to sleep. So much has happened to me in the past 2 days. Tomorrow is my birthday. I don’t think Ty remembers but what ever. I don’t really mind. As long as he doesn’t yell out happy birthday. He knows that I hate that. I’ve thought about telling Ty that Noah and I were vampires, but if we did then it would put him in danger because of the wolfie soldiers. Lieutenant Kurt said that we shouldn’t tell anyone. It could put our loved ones in danger. I felt Noah’s lips on my forehead. I loved that feeling. With out realizing it I fell into a deep sleep.
