Glass was strewn across the wood floor, the hot nails in the floor boards burned Frost's paws. "Lexi!" She cried, "Lexi! Where are you?!" The black she-cat was nowhere in sight. The smell of burning cat hair wafted around Frost's nose and the smoke stung her eyes. Flames raged in the room next door, slowly spilling into Frost and Lexi's room. "Lexi!" Frost called out, "are you in here?!" There was no reply. The now ash covered cat searched the room frantically for her sister. Flaming chunks of ceiling started falling and landing beside Frost, I've got to get out of here. "Lexi!" She cried one last time before running out the back door, narrowly avoiding the flames. Just as she got out of the burning wreckage, the house collapsed and was now nothing more than a flaming pile of rubble. Frost let out a long mournful cry, "Lexi! I'm sorry!" She sobbed. The cat sat and watched as the home she grew up in burnt to the ground, taking her sister with it. The remains kept burning until nothing was left. All that remained in the house's place was the eerie glow of burning ashes. The two legs showed up with their water snakes and red monsters, dousing the remains in water. The valley was covered in a blanket of smoke which glowed orange with light from the new sun. The burnt smell still hung around, making Frost cough. "Now what am I going to do? I found my home but it's gone" sighed Frost. The she-cat turned around and headed along the edge of the forest. By sun high she had reached a dirt covered clearing with piles of rocks scattered in different areas. At the edge of the clearing was a small tree stump with a burrow underneath it. Frost sniffed the entrance, the scent of the creature that attacked her last time wasn't there, only the damp smell of dirt. She entered the burrow cautiously, there was nothing inside. She curled up and hid out there while she thought of where she could live. While pondering in her burrow, a twig snapped just outside the entrance. Oh no, something's coming for me she thought. A large shadow passed by the entrance of the burrow, "wait, there's someone else here" it said. Three other shadows appeared and stood behind the largest shadow. The sounds of footsteps grew nearer to the entrance. Frost was shaking in fear. A large claw reached in and grabbed her by the scruff, pulling her out of the hole. She screamed as a golden blur pinned her down, "what are you doing here?!" It demanded. "I-i-i-" Frost stuttered with her eyes shut in fear. "Well? Tell me now! What are you doing on Thunderclan territory?!" Frost slowly opened her eyes, in front of her stood a large golden she-cat with darker dapples, her gold eyes were beautiful. "m-my home was destroyed. I'm sorry, I didn't know this was your territory" she explained. The she-cat loosened her grip "Your home was destroyed, eh?". "Y-yes, by a fire last night" Frost replied. A bluish grey tabby tom, the smallest cat in the group of four, stepped forward, "I know, you can stay with us in Thunderclan!" The little blue eyed tom blurted out. "Hush Riverpaw!" Hissed a white and grey she-cat. "No, no, don't tell him to hush Rainclouds. He has a point" said the golden she-cat. "But what would Dapperstar think?" The one called Rainclouds asked. This time, a black tom stepped forward, "well we'll just have to see then, won't we Leopardfur?" "Correct" replied Leopardfur. "Come with us, we must take you to Dapperstar" ordered the golden she-cat as she turned to enter the woods. Frost followed hastily, not wanting to upset Leopardfur. Riverpaw skipped up to Frost, "So, what's you're name?" he asked. "oh, um my name is Frost" answered the young she-cat. "So, Frost, where do you come from?" Leopardfur questioned. "I lived in a two-leg den with my sister" replied Frost. "A two-leg den?! Why would you want to live with those filthy creatures?" The black tom said in a bratty tone. "I always wanted to explore but the two-legs wouldn't let me" she replied. The cats arrived at a large bramble patch, "this is it" said Leopardfur. But it's just brambles, she questioned silently. "Come this way, under the brambles" Leopardfur instructed. Frost followed Leopardfur under the brambles which caught on her coat, ripping chunks of fur out. She winced at the pain but forgot all about it when she saw the inside of the camp. There were so many cats, young and old, and dens, lots of dens. "Welcome to the Thunderclan camp" said Leopardfur.
A black and red tortoiseshell tom walked up to Leopardfur, "I see you found someone on your afternoon patrol" he said. "Yes, do you know where Dapperstar is?" Asked Leopardfur, "I think he's in his den" the tortoiseshell replied. "Thank you Aspenfire" Leopardfur nodded and headed towards a large rock face. The rock face had an opening at the top, sort of like a den, and a flat area overlooking the entire camp. "This is where Dapperstar, the clan leader, resides" Leopardfur told Frost. The other three cats branched off and went to do their own things while Leopardfur took Frost to see Dapperstar. "Dapperstar? Are you in here?" The gold eyed she-cat asked. "Yes. You may enter" a deep raspy voice replied. Leopardfur nodded her head in respect, Frost followed. "So, who is this young one?" Asked a brown and gold tom cat. "This is Fr-" Leopardfur was interrupted by the elderly tom "she can speak on her own, Leopardfur. Now, where do you come from?" He asked. "Oh, um I come from two-leg place. My home burned down last night and my sister didn't make it. I came to the forest looking for shelter." Frost replied, head still bowed. The tom stepped forward and bowed his head, "my condolences for your sister." Dapperstar walked to the entrance of the den, "Now listen here, you're lucky that Thunderclan is a bit more accepting than the other clans." Frost turned to look at the elderly cat, "other clans?" She asked. Leopardfur went to Frost's side, "Yes, Riverclan, Windclan, and Shadowclan. The four clans share the valley but two-legs are a constant threat so the clans are not all that welcoming to kitty pets, especially Shadowclan." Dapperstar walked up to Frost and sat tall in front of her, "so, you think you're worthy of being a Thunderclan cat?" Frost stood tall and proud, "yes sir!" She said with determination in her eyes. Dapperstar smiled, "hmph, we will have the apprentice ceremony at sundown".
