The brambles caught on Frostpaw's fur, keeping pieces of it for themselves. Sun shone down through the leaf fall canopy, dead leaves crunching under Frostpaw's weight as she walked through the forest with Leopardfur. "I love leaf fall" said Leopardfur, "it's peaceful and enchanting, the different shades of reds, yellows and oranges falling from the trees and being strewn across the forest floor."
As the two cats walked through the sea of red a deer popped up on the horizon, "get down!" Leopardfur snarled, "w-why?" Frostpaw worried. "Just do it!" Leopardfur crouched on the ground, she was completely still, eyes locked on the deer. "Wait here" the golden she cat ordered the young white cat. The dappled deputy crept closer and closer to the unoblivious doe, remaining absolutely silent. The doe, who still hadn't noticed the cat creeping up on her, scrounged for food under the leaves. Leopardfur was only a couple feet away from the doe, she pressed herself against a tree and launched at the deer taking it by surprise and viciously latching onto its neck. The doe let out a cry in pain as Leopardfur wrestled it to the ground. The powerful cat slashed it's throat, blood spurted onto Leopardfur. Frostpaw watched in fear but also in awe with the fact that one cat could take down an entire deer all on her own. The she cat continued to tear at the helpless doe's throat, more and more blood gushed onto the leaf covered ground. The deer struggled to get away but there was no escaping now, she was too damaged and stood no match against Leopardfur. After realizing it's fate, the doe stopped fighting and lay bloodied and mostly still on the forest floor. She moaned and twitched every time Leopardfur took a bite deeper into her neck, and with one more lunge, the mighty she cat took one last bite into the poor deer's neck and breaking her spine with a deep crack. Her catch stopped twitching, Leopardfur had finished it. "Thank you StarClan" she mumbled to the sky. "Whoa! You caught a deer all by yourself?!" Frostpaw was beyond impressed and raced from out of her hiding spot and toward the deputy. "I've never tried deer before!" The young cat opened her mouth and leaped at the dead carcass, the gold she cat smacked Frostpaw to the ground, holding her paw on the apprentice's head, "what'd you do that for?!" Questioned the white cat, "we do not eat until later, we will bring this back to the camp and then head back out for training" Leopardfur was upset but cut Frostpaw a break since she had only joined the other day. "Help me carry our catch back to the camp" ordered the dappled she cat, "yes Leopardfur" the fluffy white cat said with a bit of disappointment. The doe was extremely heavy and awkward to carry, the only way of getting it home was to drag it by the leg.
