"I don't think I love you anymore"

"What do you mean Brendon..?" Cole says with a slight of hurt in his tone

"You've been busy...and so have I, we rarely have time for each other anymore. We would chat like once every two weeks. I think it's time for us to move on Cole"

"Brendon please...I love you, I really do. I-ill try harder, I'll love you harder..Don't leave me" Cole takes my hand and I pull it away and turn my back to him, knowing that if I look at his sad face I'll feel guilty

"I'm sorry Cole." I hand him the necklace with his name on it back to him and I start to walk away, thinking of the fun times I had with him, The promises we made, The person I loved.

He's now a stranger to me.

Present day..

"Brendon!! Hurry up you'll miss the bus!!" My grandma yells

I shoot up from my deeply slumber and rush to get my clothes

"I can't miss the bus! I have theatre performance today!!"

I run downstairs with a red muffler around my neck to keep me warm, because school has shitty heating and cooling system, my backpack hugging my back and I grab my textbook on the table and squeezed it against my chest. Grabbed my cardigan and put it on while slipping my shoes on, and escapes my house door to catch my bus thats waiting outside and I run to the kids boarding the bus and get on

"I would've laughed if I saw you chasing the bus Brendo" Katrina says laughing while sipping her hot chocolate

I sit beside her huffing and puffing after the unexpected workout

"Are you...excited....for...the...p-play?" I said while panting

Katrina rolls her eyes in disgust and sips her beverage "ugh I have to hug gross ass Gerry! You know? The one who picks his nose like there's gold in the mine? Apparently he has a crush on me!" Katrina shivers at the thought of him picking his nose

I laugh at her but also feel bad for her "Well at least you have a small role to memorize, I'm the lead role. I'm Fredrick Finkleton"

Katrina gasps and shakes me in excitement "Really?! I heard like about 12 boys auditioned for him!'

I nod, proud of my hard work then the bus stops at school and we unload the bus and head to class

I walk into my Humanities class and Jess greets me with a big hug

"Brendon!!!!!! You excited for the play tonight???? You're the leadddddd" She says happily and jumps around

I smile "I'm very excited, First night and it's already a full house!"

Jess squeals and hugs me again and I hug back then she pulls away then yaps and yaps about her role of being Fredrick Finkleton's mother but I space out as I see the teacher talking on the phone, something about a new student?

Jess sees that my attention isn't focussing on her and she snaps at me "Brendon why are you looking at Ms. Syndhu?" Jess says

I shush her and listen to the conversation

"Jake Chicago?" The teacher responds on the phone

I turn to her "I think we are having a new student"

I see that her face is dazed and her eyes are fixed behind my head

I turn around and see a boy with prescription glasses, brown flippy hair, who is wearing a baseball tee with skinnys and converse standing under the door frame. He's about the same height as the door frame.

"I-I think I-I'm in love.." Jess blurted out while staring at the boy

I slap Jess's face "snap out of it Jess, You need to slow yourself down. Remember your breakup not long ago?" I hit her back into reality with my words and she pouts rubbing the now red cheek and continues to look at the boy

The teacher walks to the boy and greets him and brings him to the front of the class

"Class? I want you to meet our new student..." The teacher looks at him for his name

"Jake" He says in a deep husky voice

She nods "tell the class about yourself Jake"

He nods and removes one of his earbuds "Well my name is Jake Chicago, I'm 15 like you guys..um..I used to go to PGSS but I didn't like it there so I moved here....uh that's it" Jake says unable to think of anything else

"What sports do you play? Or what do you like doing?" Ms. Syndhu adds so we can learn more about him

"I play football, Im the captain of the football team. I sometimes play soccer. I like to go to the gym and lift but I don't do leg workouts, I skip leg day if anyone gets what I mean" He winks at the class

No one laughs except for Jess who laughs at every stupid thing

"Thank you girl in the back of the class" Jake points at Jess and Jess blushes

I look at her and hit her arm and she yelps in pain

"Gurl stop throwing your panties at him" I state and she gives me the finger

"I just have something to say for the class which is very inspirational, to me personally" Jake says and the teacher nods

Everyone gives their attention and waits for his inspirational word

He clears his throat then stands proudly

Jeffrey mocks him and says "I'm Donald Trump and I'm running for president" Jess laughs and so does Jeffrey and I smile then turn my head to give Jake my attention

"Eat pizza, it covers all the food groups" He bows and the teacher laughs and everyone just give him a weird look and I laugh quietly at his joke

The teacher tells us to continue working and I look at the essay outline that I have to complete and I start writing the title until I see a figure sitting beside me in the empty desk

I look and see Jake smiling at me

"Hi I'm Jake" He sticks out his hand in a friendly gesture

I take his hand and shake and he rubs my knuckle with his thumb

"I already know you're Jake. You literally said it two minutes ago" I say chuckling and he laughs realizing his stupid mistake

"So do you have a name?" He asks and I look at Jeffrey and he's on his phone and I look at Jess who has lovey dovey eyes at Jake and I wave my hand infront of her face and she snaps out of it and I turn to face Jake

"My name is-"

"IM JESS!" Jess interupts and Jake chuckles

"Hi Jess" He says then looks at me with sparkling brown eyes

"Brendon"

"Brandon?" He asks

"No BrENdon" I correct him

"Okay BurENDon" He smirks and I roll my eyes

He looks at me concerned "come on, I was just joking Brendon"

I continue to work on my essay outline and Jake looks at me working then pokes me but I ignore it the first time, then he does it again and I get a little annoyed, then the third, fourth, fifth, sixth..

"ENOUGH!" I yell at him and he looks at me in terror then Ms. Syndhu looks at us

"Brendon. Jake. Detention after school!"

Everyone 'ooo' at us and my heart beats fast

I have the play tonight!!!!!!

"M-Ms. Syndhu can you give me detention tomorrow I have the play tonight!" I explain

"Well you shouldn't have yelled like that Brendon. Dentention after school" She states

Jess looks at me with sad eyes

"Brendon...what are you gonna do..?"

What am I gonna do...
