~Chapter 10~

I woke up. I looked at my alarm, 11:22. "Why didn't anyone wake me up?" I questioned. I walked out into the hall. No one. There was a note on the floor,I picked it up. It read,

Dear Charlie,
While you were asleep at least I hope you are, something happened. The power went out and this is the first time it has. I'm using my flashlight to write this if you don't wake up. It's not just "our" place that went out of power, it's the whole city. The girls have been praying and I think you're the only person that slept through this. Ms. Denis, don't even know what is happening. If I'm not here in the morning or anybody else, pray for us. And good luck out here if we never see you again.

I started walking in the halls. "Hello?" I said. "Hello!" I said again but a little bit louder. "Over here," someone said. I followed the voice. "Where is everyone?" The person asked. "All I know is the whole city's power went out," I said. "Oh, but why would they leave, and not take us?" He asked. "That's what I'm confused on." I said.

"Do you think there's anybody else here?" He asked. "I don't know." I said

I jerked up. Their is know way that was a dream. I looked over and Hailey was there. I stepped out of the bed, onto the cold floor. I slowly opened the door. Everyone was lined outside of their door. I looked over to these to girls beside our room. "Hi, I'm what's going on?" I asked.

This girl with really dark red hair answered. "Three people are coming here, all of them are looking for a kid too adopt. One of them wants to adopt two, but if they find three they like they will adopt them." She said. "Oh okay, thank you." I said. She nodded her head. I shook Hailey until she woke up. I told her everything. We got dressed and now we are like everyone else, outside our room. Waiting.
