Annabelle turned and looked at the veiled figure in the distance. His shadow was cast all the way to her, and a.... A sharp ass scythe was held in his hand, blade pointed at her. She look a few steps back but it only followed her.
"The hell are you?" Annabelle demanded.
"Me?" He asked, gesturing toward himself. "I'm the Grim Reaper. Ryder, if you prefer." He began walking toward her and Annabelle tensed.
"Alright..." She trailed, trying to stay calm.
"Dont be afraid, Annabelle. Im not going to hurt you." He stated bluntly. Once he got to her, he looked her up and down. "The beautiful always die young..."
"So... Where exactly am I?"
"You're still on earth, in purgatory. Limbo actually."
"Limbo?"
"Indeed."
There was a blood chilling scream that stopped Annabelle mid thought. She looked at Ryder and he looked as clueless as she was. Well. Ryder began walking in that direction and she instinctively followed him. At least there was someone she could talk to. Sort of.
"Was that another girl?" Annabelle asked, finally breaking the silence.
"Most likely. It sounded to me like the scream of a terrified 15 year old." Ryder said.
"That poor girl..."
"Indeed..."
Once they found the source of the screaming, Annabelle stopped dead in her tracks. It was a girl, no more than maybe 16. She had longish brown hair, and green eyes. She was wearing a pair of torn jeans, and a black hoodie over an aqua blue zebra print tank top.
"What is your name, Child?" Ryder asked coldly.
"Li-Lillie..." The young girl replied, voice shaking. "Where am I?"
"From what this guy has told me," Annabelle said, pointing her thumb at Ryder. He gave her an odd look. "Purgatory. Or Limbo. Whichever is more comforting."
