Dan's POV:
I shoved my hands deep into my black skinny jeans pockets as I began my walk home, school sucks. I hate not having my best friend there with me. Well, technically he's my only friend which just makes not having him there even worse.
Phil Lester and I became friends ten years ago, he moved next door during the summer when we were both seven.

My mum gently nudged me forwards into the new neighbours house. I silently surveyed the room taking in every detail, there was a lot of bright colors all shouting and begging for my attention.
My gaze landed on a boy who looked to be seven like me, his clothes were full of bright colors that definitely made him look like he belonged in this house, had reddish blonde hair and was wearing mismatched socks.
The new boy intrigued me, he had his head cocked to the side like he was listening intently but his eyes looked through me like he wasn't actually paying attention.
"Dan, honey, why don't you go talk to him?" My mum softly prodded my back before following the new boys mother to the kitchen.
I slowly approached him, his eyes still stared through me although he turned his head in my direction.
I joined him on the floor and sat in front of him, his eyes were a pale blue, they had a milky kind of colouring to them.
"Hello?" The blue eyed boy asked furrowing his brow, sounding a little confused.
"Hi," I replied eyeing him curiously.
"I'm Phillip! But just call me Phil please," Phil introduced himself with a big grin.
"I'm Daniel, but just call me Dan," I watched as Phil turned his head a bit more in my direction, but what caught my attention was the fact that his eyes didn't move to look at me. I waved my hand in front of his face to see if he'd look at it.
"Why won't you move your eyes?" I bluntly inquired curiously, I'd never met anyone like this boy.
Phil giggled, "I'm blind, my eyes don't work."
I tilted my head to the side, "so you can't see what I look like?"
"Nope," Phil shook his head.
"Have you ever been able to see?" Phil had captured my interest, he's so different from all the kids at school who don't really talk to me, I'm just the weird quiet kid.
Phil shook his head again, "Nah, I've always been like this... Dan?"
"Yeah?"
Phil tried to look at me but ended up looking a little bit to my right, "Do you wanna be friends?"
I felt a small smile spread on my face, "Sure, Phil, I'd like to be friends."
