Autumns POV;
*Six Months Ago*
Me and Jake were together for six months. Six months that I would never in my eighteen years forget. In the first four months of being with Jake, I was the happiest girl on the world. He made me feel loved, and he made me feel cared for. I never did have a great relationship with my Mum and my Dad just vanished when I was born. Jake was the only person who kept me together, and I thought that he was always going to keep me together. But then came the night of his eighteenth and that's when things went horribly wrong.
It was the fourth of March, I can remember the day so well, from the minute I got up to the minute that I finally went to sleep. I was starting to notice that Jake was changing. Not for the good, but for the bad.
It was his eighteenth birthday, the day when everything went wrong.
I got up early that day to get everything ready, as I promised Jake that I would help him get everything set up for his big party. I didn't understand why Jake wanted a big party, he was inviting too many people.
It was eight by the time we got everything ready for his party. And Jake being Jake, was already drinking.
"Autumn, did I ever tell you how sexy you looked in that dress" he slurred into my ear, as he greedily placed his hand on my lower back.
I pushed him away lightly "Jake you're drunk and your party hasn't even begun yet." I frowned at him.
He wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer, the smell of alcohol off him made my stomach turn.
"Jake please, people are going to be here soon." I pushed him off me once again, but he just kept pulling me closer.
"Come on Autumn, live a little." He kissed my jaw, his hands roaming all over my body.
"Jake please don't" I pleaded trying to struggle out of his grip.
"It's okay." He said pushing me against the wall.
*present*
"Autumn are you okay in there?" I heard Harry's deep voice murmur through the bathroom door.
I stood up quickly wobbling a bit. "I'm okay" I lied, wobbling over to the mirror to wipe away the mess of all my makeup.
"Are you going to stay there all night, I kind of need to use the bathroom."
I quickly grabbed a tissue and dabbed at the mascara running down my face. I walked to the door and opened it up slowly. Harry was leaning against the door, I kept my head down as I walked back into the bedroom.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Harry questioned as I sat back down on the floor beside the door.
I nodded my head biting my lip to stop myself from crying again. I heard Harry walk over but I refused to look up at him.
"Autumn what's wrong?" I felt his hand on my shoulder, and I couldn't help myself but to flinch away from his touch.
I knew that Harry's touch was only a friendly gesture, but ever since what happened with Jake, I couldn't stand people touching me.
"It's nothing honestly." I lied, looking up to meet his gaze.
"You're not crying because you're locked in a room with me, are you?" He questioned.
"No of course not." I smiled at him to try and show that I was telling the truth.
He smiled at me, his dimple always appeared when he smiled which led to me wanting to poke it. I ran my hand through my hair to stop myself from poking his cheek.
"I need to use the bathroom." He said as he stood up and made his way to the bathroom.
I pressed my head against the wall and closed my eyes, I didn't know what time it was, but what I did know was that the party wasn't over. I heard the bathroom door open, and saw Harry walk out of it, he reappeared by my side and he sat down making sure there was a comfortable distance between us which I respected.
"So Autumn, I'm kind of getting the vibe that you don't like house parties."
I shook my head. "Nope, hate them." He laughed, his laugh filling the emptiness of the room.
"Why did you bother coming then?" He questioned readjusting his shirt.
"I was forced.. My best friend she wanted to get me out of the house, and I agreed to go." I mumbled.
"So you're an insider" he asked, one of his eyebrows raised up.
"An insider?" I repeated confused.
"An insider is someone who finds comfort being inside then outside, I used to be the exact same as you." He smirked, as he ran his hands through his hair.
"Being inside is better than outside, it's a scary place outside" I admitted.
"The outside is a scary place, but it's also a beautiful place once you explore it." Harry leaned his head back against the wall and sighed deeply. "You know, being an insider isn't that great Autumn, you get too caught up with loneliness that you think it's normal to feel that way, but from another persons perspective you're labeled as weird and lonely."
I watched him carefully as he spoke, realising that everything he was saying was very true. I found comfort being alone, but I knew it wasn't good for me. "I know, I shouldn't find comfort in loneliness but I do, I read a lot which takes the loneliness away for a while."
"Don't worry, now that you know me you won't know what the word lonely is in a couple of months." A big cheesy grin spread across his face.
As soon as I was about to reply, a bang was forced onto the door. I jumped back quickly as I heard a key enter the door, I stood up quickly and stood behind Harry. The door slowly opened. "Autumn are you in here?" I heard Hazels familiar voice and sighed in relief. I moved away from Harry as Hazel wobbled over to me.
"There you are, I've been looking for you for ages." She slurred whilst hugging me. I hugged her back quickly as I saw Harry leave the bedroom.
"Who was that?" Hazel asked leaning onto me for support.
"No one, come on let's get you home" I slumped her arm around my shoulder and carried her down stairs and out of the house away from the party. All I could think about was Harry, I didn't understand why he left that quickly and why he didn't say goodbye. As soon as I let Hazel into the taxi, I started her car as I hadn't been drinking and drove back to my apartment trying to keep my mind off Harry.
