---PROCESSING---

This country has gone to shit. I've taken my family, hiding my beloved ones from them. The changes happened slowly.. I guess people either didn't care or didn't notice and turned a blind eye. I couldn't believe I actually worked for them. And that all along-- the bad guys were the good guys.
I swear to god.. Please guide me. Protect my family. Protect us. Let my prayers be heard.
---PROCESSING COMPLETE. FILE SAVED FOR FUTURE RETRIEVAL.---I opened my eyes, feeling the familiar rumble of heavy machines above. I let out a slow breath, feeling my hole I call home shake. Dirt that caked the ceiling shaken loose and sprinkling down on everything it could. I closed my eyes again.
The rumbling machines grew fainter with each passing second. My stomach started to get the funny feeling of anxiety as it dawned on me.
They knew I passed through here.. But didn't know I am still here.
"SHIT!" I cursed, jumping up and grabbing my backpack and shoving all my belongings in it. It was only a matter of time before they would send ground forces and the bots to thermal scan everything.
As I carelessly shoved all my belongings into my bag, my hand stopped at my only photo. A photo of my family.
Tears welled in my eyes as I picked it up, gently brushing off the dirt and staring down at the smiling faces. My dad having the biggest smile. My mom having the proudest gleam in her eyes. My brother, looking so happy. And then me. In my brother's arms.
Before the government happened. Before everything was shattered in 24 hours. Before Earth became the actual depiction of Hell itself.
I wiped my burning eyes, shoving the worn photo in my backpack. I know there's people like me out there, waiting. I need to find them and soon. Before the Government find me first.
I pushed through the dry mud above me, letting the sun shine through as I dug from above. Little bunkers like these are everywhere in America, designed for this purpose. To escape and live. I pulled myself up, straining against the loose rubble that threatened to give any moment. As soon as I was on my two feet, I started sprinting to the trees for aerial cover.
My name is Carter Lisbeth Night, I am the last surviving member of the Nights, 16, and completely alone.
I escaped the Government on the mere rumor of freedom. A promise for revenge.
My best friends now are my two handheld automatics and my wits, and my legs.
I could still hear the alarms from the factory that once was my prison.I pushed myself faster and faster, until my lungs burned and my legs felt numb.
This is my life now.
