Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.

The night was chilly. Not a single soul roamed the streets - except me. I shivered, hugging myself, and rubbing my frozen hands together to keep them warm. As well as having early shifts, I also had late night shifts, which meant walking home, alone in the dark. I didn't mind at first, but then after watching thousands of horror movies, even the leaves seem scary enough.

I feel the hairs on my arms, and legs stand up, and I suddenly wish that I had brought my car to work today, but seeing as though it was fine this morning, I didn't think I needed to. Now, it was like walking in the North Pole, except without the little green creatures, and a fat bearded man, dressed in red.

You can never trust the weather.

I wish I had never agreed to working late at night, but I wanted the extra money. We were pretty well off, but I didn't like taking my parents money, especially when they think that's all they have to do. As a sixteen year old girl, you'd think that you would love to not have your parents around. But when you have them constantly leaving from the age of three, and them not knowing the simplest things about you, like you're favourite colour, is infuriating.

Baby baby baby ooohhh I'm like baby baby baby nooo

I jump when I feel something vibrate against my bum. I, confused take out the phone and check the caller ID. Drews phone. Oh my god, someone was ringing Drew.

UNKNOWN NUMBER

Should I answer it? What if it's a murderer, or a kidnapper? I mean, Drew does seem like a type of person to get in to trouble, or the type of person to be involved in something along the lines with them. But then, his ringtone being Justin Bieber - Baby, is kind of ... I don't know.

My fingers moving on their own accord, answer the call. I place the phone beside my ear, and wait for the caller to speak.

"Hello?" The familiar voice rings in my right ear.

"Hi" I say loudly. It was Drew, I know it was, his husky voice is not foreign to me, and I try to cover my voice, disguise it in a way, so he doesn't know it's the clumsy girl who spilt coffee all over his 'expensive shirt'

There's silence on the other line, and I'm not sure what to say, or if I should end the call.

"Who is this?" He asks, I can hear shuffling, and I try to think of any name, any name that will do. A black Mercedes drives by, and I thank the person who created the make.

"Mercedes Black" I say.

"Well, Mercedes can I have my phone back?" He asks, and I think of all the things I can't do with the phone, it has a passcode on it, so there was not much use of me holding onto the phone. And then I thought about the good things about having his phone, aside, from talking to him, but I could actually do a lot; I could bribe him to buy me some sweets, or do something really funny, of some sort.

"No" I confidently say, my heart beat races, as I let the words leave my mouth. I would never have been able to say it if we were face to face. But then again, I wouldn't do a lot of things, like take his phone for example.

"Why?" He asks confusion evident in his husky voice.

I smile to myself, as I walk past Violets house. "Let's make this a little fun" I say.

"What do you mean fun?" He says, mocking my voice. "You have my phone, actually, you stole my phone, and you think you can make this fun?" I roll my eyes. "Please, enlighten me"
