Chapter 6

(CLAIRE POV)

With the way we were sitting in the bumper car Noah had the gas, Preston had the brake, and I had the steering wheel. It was really fun, we'd be turning as to not hit a corner and Preston would slam on the brakes, while right after Noah would hit the gas. We were laughing at every second of the ride, with our heads being knocked back and forth from the rickety motions of our bumper car. We made Preston's friends rage as we trapped them in corners a few times. It was hilarious as they yelled and threatened to get out of their cars. I even went hands free driving for a bit before I saw Aleks and Mitch in their bumper car. I suddenly forgot what I was doing and started watching them. Mitch had his arm around her while she was in control of the wheel and gas. Then all of a sudden their car stopped, and I see Aleks look up at Mitch and him leaning down and giving her a quick kiss before taking his foot off the brake and their car going racing forward again. I tell Noah and Preston that Mitch just kissed Aleks and they freaked out.

"Ohhh Mitch might finally get a girlfriend"Preston whisper shouted excitedly

"He's gonna go MOO MOO" Noah almost yelled. I broke down laughing and steered us into a wall. The bumper car jolted to a stop, making our heads bang forward. We all laughed and turned the car around and started driving again until the car slowed down to a stop signaling the ride has ended.

"You guys broke it!" I jokingly yelled

"It had to be done" Preston stated in a serious voice but was ended with a hiccup.

"Nice hiccups Perston" Rob said as he started walking towards us and towards the exit of the bumper car arena.

"Stop it. It's -hiccup- not my fault. And don't call me -hiccup- Perston" Preston choked out, while Rob just laughed. We all then exited the arena and heard some girl yell, "Mitttchhh". We all turned to see the two girls. The girl who yelled was waving at us. She was kinda short, about 5' 4", a little chubby and had dirty blonde hair with hazel eyes. The gal next to her was a little thiner and taller than her and had brown hair with a few highlights along with light brown eyes. They both started walking towards us or otherwise towards Mitch who was standing at the edge of our group with Aleks next to him. That's when Mitch yelled out, " Yo what's up Addi?"It seemed like the girl with blonde hair, or now Addi, was friends with him because when she got closer to him Addi said, "Not much Mitch" while they both high fived each other and acted like best friends. Well I guess they probably knew each other from somewhere, so I chose not to butt in. They then started chating and had a conversation for a little bit while the rest of just messed around for a bit on other games and it turns out the other girl's name was Alexis. They both seemed like pretty cool people.

After we met the girls we kept on playing games and getting tickets. Mitch and Noah ended up with giant necklaces made of red tickets. They both bought giant life-sized teddy bears with zippers on the back to shove stuffing in. Noah's teddy bear was a chocolate brown bear while Mitch's teddy bear was golden brown. By the time they got the bears we thought we had enough of the arcade since it was about 6pm, so we started walking out with Mitch and Noah carrying their bears on their backs. We all said goodbye to Preston, his friends and the girls, with me exchanging numbers with Addi and Alexis and giving Aleks a hug. Addi volunteered to drive Aleks and Alexis home as Preston then came up to me and asked, " hey can I talk to you for a sec?"

"Sure" I replied while letting the rest the guys walk to the car.

"What's up?" I asked

(PRESTON POV)

Ughh. Gosh darn it. Why couldn't I think of what to say? Ummmm.

"Hey-y I was wondering if I could get your -hiccup- number?" I stuttered nervously. WHY HICCUPS WHY?! At the worst timing too. She probably thinks I'm just a weirdo. But her answer surprised me.
