Chapter 6: Us

Mr. Yoongi again compiled everyone in a room.

"Good morning! Today, I will be introducing your official team manager. Each team leader will have to report to him. Please welcome Mr. Jung Hoseok!"

"Hello everyone! I am Jung Hoseok. I look forward to working with everyone," he warmly said with a bow.

Jungkook couldn't believe who was standing in front of him. He looked most flustered than everyone else in the room. Jungkook didn't have a good feeling about this. He approached Hobi after the meeting.

"Hey Hobi! What are you doing here?"

"I tried to tell you Kookie, but you were too busy—"

"Is this why you wanted to meet before Wednesday?"

"Yes. Exactly. But I also wanted to talk to you about some things. How 'bout lunch?"

"Yeah, sure"

"Okay then! Meet me at my office by 11:30"

Taehyung-ssi, as the leader of the team, approached Jungkook.

"Hey Jungkook-ssi,"

"O-oh. H-hello"

"We'll be having a presentation this Friday for the soju bidding. Can you do some research for that?"

"A-ah y-yes. N-no p-problem,"

"Okay then. Thanks!"

"Y-yea—"

"Oh, and welcome to the team" Taehyung added before closing the door.

"Hobi, I'm here." Jungkook mumbled as he knocked and came in.

"Oh hey my little Kookie! Let's get going then!" Hobi said while grabbing Jungkook's hand.

"Hobi!" Jungkook pointed at their fingers intertwined.

"What?"

"Hobi. Didn't we break up?" Jungkook emphasized.

"We did Jungkook, and with no closure...that's why I wanted to talk to you"

"Well now are you going to explain? Why you haven't contacted me for the past four years and disappeared? JUNG HOSEOK! FOUR YEARS! Can you imagine how hard it was for me? I waited for you every single day. And you never came."

"Kookie please, I want us to start over again. I still love you...very much,"

"Hoseok! That's it? Explain to me what you did in four years without me. Tell me...please"

"I can't Kookie. I want to, but I can't"

"And what's stopping you? I'm sorry but I can't be with someone who doesn't trust me," Jungkook explained as he turned around to leave.

"Kookie please. Just like how the bike can't go on without the rider...I can't go on without you."

"Well, you'll have to learn how. Like how I did,"

"Please Kookie. Hold onto me will you?" Hobi begged while grabbing Jungkook's arm causing him to turn to Hoseok.

"Let go of me. And let's never see each other again. Or say hi when we pass each other"

Hobi was left standing there, unable to analyze what just happened.

"Oh, team manager! Are you having lunch here too?"

"I'm sorry but who are you?" Hoseok asked.

"Oh I'm sorry for introducing myself late! I'm Kim Taehyung from group 2! Wanna have lunch with me?" Taehyung pleaded.

"No thank you. I've lost my appetite. Besides, I still have a lot to do."

"Okay then, please go in safely!"

Hoseok headed to the bathroom and cried. He really wanted to tell his Kookie the reason, but he knew that this would only hurt him. His feelings for him were sincere. If only Kookie knows the truth, he would understand Hoseok. But he loves Kookie so much that he's willing to do whatever it takes for him not to get hurt.

Meanwhile, Jungkook is in his office, thinking about what Hoseok said. When Taehyung suddenly came in.

"Hey! Uhm we're going to brainstorm for the presentation...and if you have some ideas maybe you could tell us?"

"U-uhh y-yea-yeah s-sure,"

"Why is he so shy? Well, whatever" Taehyung wondered.

"R-rig-right n-no-now?"

"Well yeah, but if you're busy you don't really have to come. Just call me. Here's my numb—can I have a memo pad?"

Jungkook nodded.

"010...Here," Taehyung mumbled.

"Call me okay?" Taehyung added.

Jungkook stared at the piece of paper until an idea popped into his mind.
