I stood there with Jack next to me. Today was the day that we were hanged for our act in piracy.

"Carina Smyth and Jack Sparrow, be it known that you have..."

"Captain. Captain Jack Sparrow." Jack whispers to himself. I smile slightly. I tune out the official and listen to Will who had walked up to the governor.

"Governor Swann. Commodore. Elizabeth. I know this is wrong and that I said I loved you. But I fell in love with Carina. I am deeply sorry." Elizabeth looks at me and pretends to faint. The drums start rolling as the executioner places the noose around my neck.

"Move!" I hear Will say. The trap door opens and I fall through expecting to die. But I feel a foothold holding me up. Will threw his sword at Jack's door and he does the same. Will races up and cuts our nooses free. I jump down and break the rope around my arms.

"I told you I wouldn't let anyone kill you." Will says kissing me briefly. I smile and take out the sword and start fighting. We fought ip to the tower and was cornered my Norrington's men. I found Will's hand and grabbed it-hoping he could save me again.

"I thought we might have to endure some manner of ill-conceived escape attempt but not from you." Norrington said to Will.

"On our return to Port Royal, I granted you clemency. And this is how you thank me? By throwing in your lot with them? They're pirates!" The governor taunts Will.

"And a good man! Along with the woman I love!" Will protests. I smile and look down at the floor.

"If all I achieved here is that the hangman will earn three pairs of boots instead of two, so be it. At least my conscience will be clear."

"You forget your place, Turner." Norrington says in a deep voice.

"It's right here. Between you and Jack." Will points out. I see Elizabeth stand next to Will and me. I grab her hand and muster a smile.

"So this is where your heart truly lies, then?" Norrington asks upset.

"No, it belongs with you. But only if Will, Carina and Jack are free as pirates." Elizabeth assures. Norrington nods and takes Elizabeth's hand and walks away with her. I catch Cotton's parrot flying away.

"Well! I'm actually feeling rather good about this." Jack interrupts. He walks up to the governor.

"I think we've all arrived at a very special place, eh? Spiritually...Ecumenically...Grammatically?" The Governor cringes at his bad breath. I stifle a laugh.

"I want you to know that I was rooting for you mate. Know that." Jack says to the Commodore.

"Elizabeth. It would have never worked between us, darling. I'm sorry." Jack looked upset as I raised my eyebrows.

"Will...nice hat. Carina? Nice to meet you, your highness." Jack bows. I roll my eyes and clutch onto Will's hand.

"Friends! This will be the day that you always will remember as the day that-" He was cut off when he falls off the battlement. I rush over to the side to see that Jack had barely missed the rocks.

"Idiot! He has nowhere to go but back to the noose!" Gillette taunts. I glare at him and he instantly shuts up. I see the Black Pearl making port. I smile and see Jack swimming to the ship.

"What's your plan of action? Sir?" Gillette asks. Norrington just stares blankly at the Black Pearl.

"Perhaps on the rare occasion pursuing the right course demands an act of piracy, piracy itself can be the right course?" The governor asks. Norrington just smiles and turns around.

"Mr. Turner." He calls. Will turns to leave but I grab his arm. I don't want him hurt.

"I will accept the consequences of my actions." He says. Our foreheads touch for a brief moment and he pulls away back to Norrington who unsheathes his sword that Will forged.

"This is a beautiful sword. I would expect the man who made it to show the same care and devotion in every aspect of his life."

"Thank you." Will says appreciated.

"Commodore! What about Sparrow?" Gillette presses.

"Well, I think that we can afford to give him one day's head start." Elizabeth smiles and leaves with the Commodore.

"So, this is the path you've chosen, is it? After all...you're a pirate." Governor says to me. I take off Will's hat and study his face.

"No. We are pirates." The governor walks away and Will kisses me again. For once, I felt proud to be a pirate princess.
