Chapter 6

Kumi's POV:

Mom and dad arrived two days after I have read their letter. I welcome them like how they should be welcomed. I don't consider them my parents anymore, just another vampires who gave birth to me.

They didn't play the roles as my mother and father, then they don't deserve me being their daughter.

"So have you thought about it?" my mother asked. "Yes." I said, I suppose this is about the marriage with Shu Sakamaki.

"So what do you think? Isn't it a great idea to marry one of the Sakamaki?" she giggled. I let out a sigh, "Mom, no."

"No?" she look confused. "What do you mean by "no"? You don't want Shu? Then who do you want? Just make sure that it's a Sakamaki."

"What I mean by no is that I don't want to marry Shu or any of the Sakamaki brothers." I answered looking down. I know one second and she'll snap.

"What?" I look up and saw her aura,surrounding her, dark. "How dare y-"

"Let's hear her first. She must have a good reason why." My father interfere. "Explain now." he said while looking at me.

"I don't want a marriage where our love is one sided, or there is no love at all."

"So? This is our world. We don't care about whether we love someone. We only care about our business. And to make our family more powerful." my mother said.

"Still-" I was cut by my father who's drinking blood in a wine glass. "We don't care, you will marry him, love him or not. This is for the sake of our family-" he stood and approach me "-you're the only one we could trust to do this. You are our only child. Our future is in your hands." he said and pat my head.

"No more arguing, no more contradiction."

I'm ready to said something again, but when I saw his eyes, I lowered my head and said yes.

"Very good. We'll leave now. The butler will inform us about progress. Don't you dare run away."

"Yes father. I won't run away."

"Okay. Let's go."

In the end, I'm still going to marry Shu. I should've known better. I should've done better.

There's no way I could run away from this. I'll just cross the bridge when I get there.
