I have a friend. She's been my friend for ten years. I'd trust her with every little secret of mine.
She's been in the most relationships out of our group. Maybe not the most crushes, but in the most relationships.
It's sort of unfortunate sometimes. It seems like they always end poorly.
In her most recent relationship, she dated one of her internet friends who lives in Florida. Her girlfriend was a bit of a jerk, but in a more vulgar way. She was overly clingy. Too dependent.
When they first got together of course they had actual feelings for each other, that was pretty clear.
After the first few weeks though, I could see my friend's feelings fading. She was starting to get sick of her girlfriend and her clinginess. She tried to break it off. Her girlfriend at that point, threatened to kill herself. She even tried to do so, when they were skyping to talk about it.
The next day, when my friend came to school. Her eyes were bloodshot from crying. I tried my best to comfort her. I tried I really did. I don't know if what I did truly worked, but I comforted her the best I could.
"She's trying to keep you in a poisonous relationship. You need to just cut her off. I know you're worried, but she's not worth it."
And I meant it. At that point, I made the decision that if I was ever in a poisonous relationship like she was stuck in, I was going to get out as fast as I possibly could.
