Martisha attempts to go after Max and see how she's doing.♡♡♡
Martisha POV
I was worried about Max. I just wanted to make sure she was okay.
I feel like the result of tonight was a little my fault. I should've just asked her to leave when I first saw her and knew Max wasn't comfortable.
"Zay can you help me out a little, with cleaning out here?"
She pauses on stuffing her face to kindly respond and say "Yeah. No problem"
"Thank you" I reply.
I head inside the house to find Max. Hopefully she's okay.
I notice Kaycee in the kitchen so I ask her if she knew where Max was.
"I mean.. I was on the couch when she came in, but she didn't seem okay. What happened outside?" She asks.
I sigh.
"Kay, where'd she go?" I ask. I don't feel like answering her, there's only one person on my mind.
"I heard the bathroom door slam." She answers then continued what she was originally doing.
"Thank you." I say walking toward the bathroom.
I walk past Rae, who seems to be a human pillow for a knocked out Keysha on the couch, toward the bathroom.
I notice the light is on from the bottom crevice of the door frame, so hopefully Kaycee was right.
I hear a sniffle, then I softly knock on the door.
She doesn't answer.
"Max, it's Marty."
Still no response.
"I'm so sorry about what just went down.. It's really all my fault. I should've just t-"
The door opens and there she stands with red eyes, puffy checks, and tear streaks down her cheek.
"It's not your fault. You didn't do anything wrong, wh-"
"No. If I would've just told you how I felt about you during college we wouldn't be in this situation now. This is really all my fault."
We look at each other, locking eye contact.
I guess she was surprised since she didn't say anything.
"Max, I've had feelings for you since the first day I met you. Once I got to know you for who you really were I fell in love with-"
She cuts me off by grabbing my face and smashing her lips into mine. Once I felt her lips detach from mine I opened my eyes.
The bathroom door was still closed and I was standing on front of it.
Wow...
Alright Marty. Let's do this. For real this time.
I knock on the door twice.
"Max, it's Marty. I'm coming in, okay?"
I slowly open the door and I find her on the floor with her head down on her arms propped up by her knees.
I take a second to think of what to do.
I close the door and sit down next to her. We both sit in silence.
She sniffles and I get her some tissue to blow her nose.
I put some tissue below her face so she can see it and use it.
She grabs it then blows her nose.
Like a nice friend, I grab it and dispose it.
"I just don't understand why she couldn't just tell me she wasn't okay with a long distance relationship. I'm a very understanding person." She admits.
Almost defending her I say "maybe she just didn't want to be without you. She just has a case where she feels like she needs constant physical attention and she couldn't get it from you at the time."
"But with a whole ass dude?" She asks looking at me with those red eyes.
"Were you aware of her attraction to dudes?" I ask.
She looks away and moves her eyes to the toilet instead.
"She had male ex's."
"Plural " I emphasize.
"I gave her a whole ass engagement ring. I was vowing my whole life to that girl. She just took my heart and fucked it over in my own bed." You could just hear the anger and heartbreak in her voice.
"You know, I think you need a break from your place. You can sleep here and I'll be here for you. You're gonna get through this but going through your journey of moving on doesn't help you by being in that house every night."
Still not looking at me she says, "I guess you're right, but I don't want to take up space. You already have guests."
"There is more than enough space for you. Just let me help you through this."
Her head dropped back down.
"Max" I lift her head up and look her in those gorgeous, now red, eyes. "You will get through this, okay?"
She nods in agreement and I put my hand out to help her up. I grab her hand and guide her to my extra guest room.
"You can sleep here. If you're hungry the kitchen is open. You already know where the bathroom is. And I'll be straight down the hall of you need me."
"Thank you." She says kindly.
"Anything for you." I smile softly. "Sleep well." I say before closing the door leaving her to herself.
I check the rest of the of the house before going straight to bed.
I check and make sure all the doors were locked and the house was in a decent state. I finish putting away any extra food then head back to my room.
To my surprise, just that fast, Max was in my bed.
I don't know if I should be happy, scared or confused.
She was snuggled up on my side of the bed too.
I just smile at how cute she was. I didn't expect her to actually come in here even though I wanted her with me.
I just let it go and take off my pants, turn off the light, then get in bed.
I try to get comfortable without waking her since she seemed to be asleep.
Then she scared me when she spoke.
"Marty.."
"Yeah?" I answer.
"I have a hard time sleeping in the dark, can we turn on your TV?" She asks.
"Yeah, no problem." I say.
I turn on the TV and turn down the volume.
"Sweet dreams beautiful." She says to me.
Thank God I was turned away from her cause I was already blushing.
I haven't slept with her since the day we were stuck in our dorms because of a storm. It was thundering and both of us were scared so we decided to sleep together. I never forgot that day. It was so special to me but obviously, only one of us were affected emotionally by that night.
Love really sucks sometimes. Especially when it doesn't work out for you.
