Martisha POV

Today was a new day. The sun was shining bright, peeking through the blinds of my window.

I stretched my arms and legs, letting out a rough grunt but remembered Max was in my bed. It's crazy that I could actually say that. All it took was one party to get her in my bed. I should've done this a long time ago.

After a minute of naughty thoughts and silent blushing, I sat up on the edge of my bed using my feet to find my shoes. I went off to my bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face.

While brushing my teeth I decided it would be nice if I cooked breakfast for Max and I. Then maybe we could talk some more and figure out what she could do to successfully get over Gabby.

On my way to my kitchen I notice two people on my couch.

"What in the hell?", I ask myself quietly.

My best friend and Rae were on my couch all cuddled up. What is this? Motel 6?

I know they both have homes. Rae could've taken Keysha to her place.

It's whatever cause once they wake up somebody need to take somebody to they place. Just breathing up my good A/C.

I continued to the kitchen and started preparing to cook a nice simple breakfast for Max and I. I thought maybe I could do pancakes, bacon, and eggs. Once I started to cook the bacon and eggs the aroma began to fill the air.

A suddenly awake Rae greeted me in the kitchen, "good morning."

Now you know you're fat when you wake up from your sleep because of the smell of food.

"What the? You were JUST asleep." I say with furrowed eyebrows.

"I smelled food. How could you expect me not to wake up?" She asked.

"Wow. You're fat."

Out came another fat one.

"I smell food," said a seeming to be half asleep Kaycee.

"You guys really are fat. Like who does that?" I ask.

"I mean, anyone who is hungry and smells food will go toward the smell." She answers.

"Can any of that go to the hungry couch people fund?" Rae asks.

"Uh no. This is for none of you. Kaycee you can cook for yourself and Rae you have your own house, your  own kitchen, and your own stove. If you're too lazy, I know you have your own money to buy you something. Besides you shouldn't even be here, Max stayed here, and unlike you, with my consent. If she woke up and saw you I'm not sure what would happen."

Speaking of her, there she was coming from the hallway.

"It's cool. I don't care about it anymore." She seemed unbothered but looked like she was slightly irritated. Regardless, she still looked fine to me. It was funny that I was cooking food but she already looked like a whole meal. I just couldn't stare at her unless I wanted to burn the food.

She made it to counter and asked "do you have anything I can cook for myself or even some cereal and milk? I don't think you want to share what you cooked for yourself."

She thought I wouldn't share with her.

"This is for me and you." I said

Both Kaycee and Rae smack their teeth in unison.

"Besides, you think I would eat all this by myself? Are you calling me fat?" I ask playfully.

"Nah, just calling you really hungry." She answered.

"Yeah, a hungry hippo." I looked at Kaycee with a dropped jaw. Everybody laughed except me.

"That's why you can stay hungry." I say.

I finished up cooking and put our food on two plates.

"You can go back to the room and I can bring our breakfast."

"You really don't have to do that." She says.

"I know. Now I'm not going to tell you again. I mean, I can give one of the hungry bums your plate."

With her hands raised, she backs away from the counter and heads to the room.

"I am not a bum." Kaycee argues.

"You shouldn't have called me a hippo" I said pouring apple juice into two glasses. "Now get out of my way."

I grab the tray and head to my room. I get stopped halfway there by Keysha.  "Best friend?"

"Yes?"

"Did you make me some breakfast?" She asks.

"Ask Rae for some breakfast." I answer, continuing to walk away.

I walk into my room and close the door with my feet.

"Breakfast in bed. Great way to start off a day. New year, new beginnings." I say.

"You really didn't have to do this." She says again.

"Do you want the food or not?" I ask.

"I appreciate it. I just don't think I deserve it. I could've cooked my own food. Or even gone out to buy some."

"Max, you are someone who deserves a lot of good things. You're a good person with a good heart. This is nothing compared to what you deserve. Just enjoy what you have and be thankful."

There was so much I really wanted to say but I kept short and sweet.

"You're right. Thank you."  She finally stopped being overly chivalrous.

She grabs her plate and sits back to eat it.

"Want the TV on?" I ask.

"I don't mind. It doesn't really matter" She answered. I just turn the tv and leave it on whatever channel it was on, turning down the volume.

"So how'd you sleep last night?" I ask.

I start it off with small conversation before jumping straight to the point. The more we got to talk the happier I was. I love to hear her voice. It's mellow and raspy. Sometimes it just gives me chills, like now. It feels like college days all over again - my stomach filling up with millions of butterflies and my heart warming up.

If only she knew the things that go through my mind when I hear her speak.

"So you never got that modeling job?" She asked me.

"Nope. I decided I didn't want to starve myself just to make a living."

She laughed. Her smile was so perfect.  There was so much that I could admire about her. She was truly perfect in my eyes.

"I mean, I could model for you Miss Big Time Photographer."

"You are a hundred percent right. We can do that today matter of fact. If you're up for it, we can make it official. I just need to go home and get cleaned up then we can make this happen."

This could turn into a date.

"Well, I'll just check my booking schedule and make sure I'm available. It definitely sounds like a plan."

She scoffs at my goofiness and I smile.

"Alright. You choose whatever outfits you want and I'll handle the rest. Cool?"

"Yes" I answer, trying to stop myself from blushing.

"Actually, I'm gonna finish this bomb ass plate first then we can start this wonderful day."

"Thank you for the compliment."

"You're welcome." She says.

We laugh together then finish eating our food.

Not gonna lie, I'm already nervous and the day has barely started. Why do I think so much?
