Chris's POV
I jumped into my car and face plamed myself as I muttered under my breath
"Stupid,stupid, stupid."
I definitely had to call mother,she would want to know about the discovery.
"Hello mother" I said unhappily
"Chris,what's wrong darling?" My mother asked noticing the tone of my voice. "Mother, the plan is falling apart" I almost yelled through the phone. "How?" She questioned.
"Jeanette and Mary know about King Ronald's poisoning." I said uncomfortably.
There was silence, then my mother laughed hysterically "I know that honey,it won't change the plan."
I breathed a sigh of relief and smiled
"What if they find out?" I asked suddenly remembering that fact.
I could feel that my mother was thinking about that question deeply.
"Hmm,I have an idea but I'll need your help."
"Anything mother"I said excited.
" Are you and Jeanette still going on those dates?"My mom queried.
"Not exactly, but I did invite for lunch." I said hoping she won't get mad. "That's perfect Chris, when is she meeting you?" My mom questioned laughing evilly. "Tomorrow noon."
I knew my mom was nodding even though I didn't see her face."Good Chris,now we are going to detain her for a bit..." My mom said but I quickly interrupted her"You mean kidnap her?!" I almost shouted.
"Well,not exactly but if you wanna call it that it's fine by me" I mom said trying to shush me. "Mom,I can't do this, it's too risky." I winced.
"Too risky,son..don't you wanna sit on the throne of Origon and rule it with a mighty hand? Do you know what it took me to marry a stupid false Prince so that you can get to where you are now?Chris, don't talk to me about risk,my whole life is risky and if you don't get on that throne it will become worse. Is it you're conscience kicking in or is there anything going on between you two?" My mother literally shouted through the phone. "No,no,I just wanted to emphasize."
My mother cooled down and spoke softly this time "I don't wanna prick your conscience son,but I do wanna see you happy,ruling your country. Are you in or out?" I sighed and said hearing my conscience shouting in my ear to disagree. "I'm in"
I knew my mom was smiling as she declared "Chris,this is the best decision you will or can ever make"
The line dropped,I shook my head and said out loud rather than in my head.
"Doesn't seem that way Mom,it doesn't seem that way"

Finally,okay this is where the suspense begins,who is Chris mother, will Chris kidnap Jeanette? Will Jeanette find out that Chris is up to something? Find out in the next chapter ;-)
