I ran into the nursery for when/ if we have kids. Tears started to form in my eyes. I looked at the crib and how one day there is going to be a living, breathing child that i--we-- created. I sighed. Jayden pounded the door. " what" I said. "Alex, what's wrong? You've been acting weird since I asked you about power. I'll admit, not the weirdest thing I've seen all day though. But what's going on?" He asked. " nothing... I'm fine." I said. " alright I'm done with this." He said. He opened the door and came in. He sat down next to me. He just stared into my eyes. He put his hands up as if to question me and put them down on his lap again, so hard it made a slapping sound. I started playing with a loose thread hanging from the crib to distract myself from looking at him eye to eye. " tell me. Now." He said, sounding kind of fed up but still lovingly. "I-I'm just afraid that when-- if we have children, I won't be strong enough to protect them. And then they'll turn to you for power and help while I'm just weak to them and they'd never come to me for help if they were ever in trouble." I said.

" Alex, you are the most beautiful, powerful, most amazing woman I've ever met in my entire life. If we have children, they'll always come to you. I mean you singlehandedly took down one of the most powerful villains in the world. You're amazing, and people don't see that, which they already seem to see, then they're blind." He said. I looked at him. I smiled sweetly and he did too. All this talk about children is making me blush. We kissed. " icky! You gots cooties!" Mia interrupted. We both chuckled. Jayden ran after her as she ran away smiling. She ran down the steps and he fell. She put her foot atop his chest. " i beat you big bwother!" She exclaimed. "Oh no! I've been defeated by the big bad Mia!" He said. I walked down the steps smiling at them. He stood up and grabbed her hand. He looked at me. " no way I'm missing in on this!" I said laughing. I held her other hand. We swung her front and back. We played all day. We even went out to eat and some crowd asked if Mia was ours. We blushed and explained everything except the whole abusing thing.

Finally, she got tuckered out from playing so much and fell asleep on the couch. Jayden and I smiled at each other. Jayden picked her up and took her into her room/ guest room. He tucked her and left. I kissed her forehead. I turned around to see Jayden waiting for me leaning on the door frame. I turned off the light. "Sweet dreams, Mia" I said. We both took one last look at her in bed before we went to our room and got in the bed.
"hey Alex?"

"Yeah?"

"you're gonna make a great mom one day."

  I smiled.
" g'night, babe." I said.
" night sweetheart." He turned off the lamp and we went to sleep.
