It was dark. No. Not completely. The sky was filled with millions of stars that gave just enough light that Lucy could see her hand when she put it in front of her. The ground was filled with stars too some how. It felt like she was standing in the middle of a galaxy.

She didn't know where she was or how she got there, but it was beautiful. She wasn't sure if it was a dream either. Everything just looked so real.

She stood and looked around. It was completely silent, nothing in sight, just the stars overhead. The longer she was there, the more lonely it seemed to become. Then she thought of Natsu. Where was he?

"Hello?" She bellowed. She gasped and and stared at the nothingness in shock. That wasn't her voice, was it? It came out as a child's. Small and high pitched. She looked down and saw a frail body. Skinny, short, and not only that, but she was glowing. A second later, her back started to feel heavier and she peeked behind her to find her wings were back. They were slightly smaller than they use to be, but seemed to be ginormous compared to her tiny figure. She flapped them and with each one, they left a trail of what seemed like glitter and sparkles.

Lucy looked back around, and once again stared at the empty place in front of her. She slowly lifted her foot and took a step in front of her. As soon as her foot touched the ground, a rippling noise set out, like water. She gave a curious look and with her hand flat and fingers spread apart, she bent down and touched the floor. Her hand was then submerged in water, and that's when she realized the floor wasn't made of stars, it was just a reflection. She sunk her hand deeper into the floor to see how deep it was and soon it was all the way up to her elbow, and she still couldn't even feel the bottom. But that didn't make any sense... her feet were still level.

Something suddenly didn't feel right, deep down in the pit of her stomach something was wrong. She got on her knees and sunk her arm into the water all the way to her shoulder. Realizing it was no use, she went to pull her arm out of the water but couldn't. It was stuck. The harder she pulled the farther she was submerged into the water.

Her head went in first and she held her breath as she went through. A few seconds later she had gone through the water and was now falling. Everything was a blur from there. Her arms flailing, legs kicking and the ground getting closer and closer as each second passed. Her wings dissolved into nothingness and then she saw pine trees and then fire and then–.

Lucy sat up straight in her bed in her room. The morning light shown through her window as she breathed heavily. She calmed when she took in her surroundings. Her breathing slowed and she made a sigh.

What kind of dream was that?

She glanced next to her and saw Natsu sleeping soundly right next to her with is arm draped around her waist. She smiled and blushed lightly as she brushed the hair out of his face and he made a small snoring noise. Lucy gently removed his arm and shakily got up and out of her bed. She looked down and saw she was just in her bra and a pair of shorts. She was blushing intensely now. She must've gotten so tired last night she didn't even get dressed completely. She looked around and snatched a T-shirt lazily draped over her desk chair.

Lucy gave Natsu one last glance and then went to exit her room. As soon as her hand touched the knob she quickly pulled away when she felt a wet substance. She looked at her hand and saw blood. It was partially dry and no longer warm, as blood was. She sighed and pushed forward.

She left her room and was a few steps away before she slipped on something. She fell on her butt and groaned. She put her hand on the floor and froze. There was blood there too.

Memories of yesterday morning started to flood in and she got up, the back of her shorts and half of the back of her tee were wet with the scarlet fluid. She slowly made her way to the the bathroom to examine the mess and covered her mouth to suppress a gasp. She stared at the room in frustration and had a hard time concentrating. She walked inside and sat by the tub and put her back on the wall as she brought her knees near her chest.

She sat there, unmoving, numb. And then her fathers unexpected death crowded her brain. The shock was finally catching up to her. She felt guilty that she couldn't have done anything to help him, or spend any more time with him. But then she felt angry that he never cared to tell her. But at the same time she blamed her self for his death... She felt hopeless.

She stared blankly at the wall across from her and a tear slid down her cheek. Soon tears soaked her face but she didn't make a sound, she couldn't feel a thing.

"Lucy?" A deep raspy voice called. Natsu appeared in the doorway a few seconds later. He was slightly taken aback by the large amount of blood that coated the bathroom, but quickly ignored it when he saw Lucy sitting and crying silently. He hurried by her side and sat while she began to hyperventilate. Natsu threw an arm around her shoulders and pulled her in close. "Hey," he whispered. "It's okay, your just in shock... you're okay."

They sat there while he embraced her for what seemed like hours but in reality was really just a few minutes. Lucy calmed and wiped her eyes.

Natsu looked down at her with a sympathetic look as he rubbed her back. "You okay now?" He asked and she nodded.

They sat in an uncanny silence while Natsu kept the embrace. It wasn't until Natsu broke the silence when Lucy remembered the mess. "We should.... probably get this clean."

Lucy sniffled and nodded her head as she felt much calmer. "Yeah."

Natsu helped her up and she smiled at him. Lucy went to the closet with him and got everything they needed to clean up the mess. Bleach, towels, scrubs, more towels. It took hours to clean up the blood. They threw away the bloody cloths and sheets and once they were done, they threw away the towels too. And no matter how much bleach they used, the floors, the walls and the door were slightly stained with blood.

"That's as good as it's gonna get." Natsu said as he slung the last rag into the trash.

Later, they ventured into the living room and sat together without saying a word. It wasn't awkward, it was comfortable, in fact. Knowing Natsu was there with Lucy no matter what made her feel good. She wasn't alone anymore. Like she thought she was going to be.

"What should we do now?" Natsu asked and stared at Lucy expectingly.

Lucy sat and thought when her mind went to the library and she remembered a book she saw and gasped.

"What?" Natsu asked, waiting for her to tell him what's wrong.

"There was a book. An angel mythology book. I saw one way back, before you and I even started our project." Lucy told Natsu with glowing eyes. "Maybe we can find something helpful in it..."

Natsu nodded. "Lets go get that book."
