When Lucy got home, she was greeted with an empty house. She turned on the lights and threw her backpack by the door. Then she plopped herself on the couch and let out a loud sigh.

Her father owned Heartfilia hospital's all over the world. He earns hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and is respected by many. Mainly, he just writes checks and meets with other people to improve his company. He would stay at work late but would get back home just in time to say goodnight and be here in the morning and still be able see her.

Lucy rubbed her shoulders before she picked up the remote and turned on TV. Not even fifteen minutes into a show did her father open the door and walk into the house, startling Lucy in the process because she's not use to him being home so early.

"You're home early." She said in surprise.

He flung his suitcase onto the chair and then looked at the TV before looking back at Lucy. "So is this what you do when you get home after school?" He said teasingly with and eyebrow raised.

"Uh-" Lucy couldn't reply.

Jude chuckled. "I'm just kidding. I'm home early because I got my stuff done earlier than intended." He said and Lucy nodded her head in understanding.

Lucy got up from the couch and hugged her dad.

"C'mon. Let's go eat some dinner." Jude said and they headed to the kitchen.

When dinner was ready and made, they sat down together at the table quietly until Jude tried to make small talk.

"So." He said. "How was school today?" He asked.

Lucy swallowed the food in her mouth before responding. "Good." She said.

Jude looked at her expecting more and when he realized she wasn't going to say anything else, he pressed on.

"Anything interesting happen today? Anyone new? Any new things happening?" He asked.

Lucy took another bite of food before answering. "Well, there is this boy-"

"A boy?" Jude interrupted and Lucy looked at him annoyed. He raised his hands in front of him," Sorry, continue." He said.

Lucy cleared her throat. "Anyways, I just have this feeling that he doesn't like me."

"Uh-huh." Jude nodded. "And why do you get this feeling exactly?"

"Because I get back uncomfortable when he glares or snarls at me." She said casually.

"Oh."

"Yeah. Oh! And, we're starting a new project in science tomorrow." Lucy exclaimed. Jude nodded as he ate his dinner.

The rest of the night went by with silly jokes in between the two and long laughs. Until they went to bed and awaited the morning.

Lucy woke up the same way she did every morning. Turn off alarm clock. Get ready. Eat breakfast. Go to school. That was pretty much it.

When Lucy got to school, she was once again greeted by her smiling friends.

"Lu-chan! Levy yelled and waved her hand at her motioning for her to go over there.

Lucy smiled at them as she approached. "Hey guys." She said.

As soon as Levy was done giving Lucy a hug, the boys walked by and Juvia bolted in their direction as always and when Lucy said hi to Natsu, he glared and turned away... As always.

Lucy let out an irritated sigh to Natsu's reaction and turned back to her friends.

"Uh- Don't worry Lucy, he'll come around." Lissana said and Lucy scoffed.

"Yeah, right." Lucy said as she rubbed her shoulders.

"Let's just go to class Lu-chan." Levy said as she took Lucy's arm and led her to class.

Classes went fairly well today, put aside the fact that Natsu had been sending Lucy nasty looks more than usual. She didn't really care though, she'd learned to just ignore it last year as a junior. This is just the first month of school as a senior, its just more practice.

Lucy took education very seriously. If she gets lower than an A on a test, she'll complain to the teacher until he lets her retake it. She's very persuasive. And, she's just applied to Tofugo University. It was her dream to go there since she'd fallen in love with writing.

Now she's anxious to know who her partner is going to be for the science project.

She sat patiently as the teacher walked to the front of the class when the bell rang.

"Okay, partner time." He said flatly. He started naming off names off of his list until Lucy heard her own name and sat straighter in her seat. "Lucy Heartfilia and...." The teacher trailed off and started clicking his tongue as he scanned his list. "Ah," He finally said. "Natsu Dragneel."

Lucy's stomach dropped when she processed what he had said. Her and.... Natsu?!

She glanced back to where Natsu was sitting and quickly looked away when he shot her a glare.

"Now, get with your partner and talk about what you're going to do with your project." The teacher said.

Lucy walked up to Natsu nervously. She stood there uncomfortably as he wrote in his journal.

"S-so." Lucy mentally scolded herself for stuttering. "Um."

"Don't," Natsu said as he rose his hand in the air. "Look at me, touch me, or start any conversation outside of our annual task. Got it?" He said harshly and Lucy just silently nodded.

This... Is gonna be hard...
