A/N
I'm so sorry guys! I've been dormant for so long and I know the last thing you want to do is read this but I just had to apologize for the absence. Seriously, I logged back into my account and had almost 400 notifications... but I'm here now and I beg for your forgiveness. I've just gotta explain myself though... first of all, I haven't quite planned this far ahead yet and had no idea what to right... like usual I know. Then my phone broke! And I had to send it into apple for a couple weeks... but the rest of the time I have really no excuse, I kinda just hid under a rock.Anyways, here's the chapter FINALLY so I hope you enjoy.
Lucy and Natsu came to a stop in the library parking lot. They opened and slammed shut the door of the vehicle and walked in. Lucy rushing a little more, for she was anxious for answers.
She hustled through and quickly scanned each bookshelf trying to remember where she'd seen it. "Are you sure it hasn't been checked out?" Natsu asked as he tried keeping up with Lucy's fast pace.
"Of course not," She said a little more aggressively than intended. "But we're just going to have to hope it's still here..." she trailed off as she recognized this shelf. She slowly looked through the books until she finally found it. "Aha." She mumbled and grabbed it, but once she did, she wasn't in the library anymore.
The area around her was suddenly white as she stared at a glass bookshelf with the book she was grabbing half way off the shelf. She slowly pulled the book toward her and looked at it with confusion. She turned it to look at the title, but instead of seeing angle mythology, she saw the word 'Humanity' sprawled across the cover in elegant writing. She frowned at it and then heard a voice call out to her.
"Lucy?" A woman's voice said and Lucy spun around, dropping the book to her side quickly.
Lucy was taken slightly aback when she saw her. She was stunning. She had her light brown hair pulled into a thick curly braid that was resting on her shoulder and her eyes were the brightest blue you could imagine. She was tall and lean and wore a white blouse underneath a black pantsuit. But the thing that caught Lucy's attention right away were the feathery wings that sprouted from her back. They were grand. Probably a foot or two longer than Lucy's.
She must be in heaven...
The woman's sky blue eyes suddenly shifted to the book being held at Lucy's side and furrowed her brows. "What's that?" She asked accusingly and took the book from her arms. She read the title and frowned. "What are you doing with this?" She asked and put the book back onto the shelf.
"I u-uh..." Lucy said, not knowing how to respond.
The woman sighed, "How many times do I have to tell you to stay away from these books, you know how the Macmillan feel about you reading them."
Lucy snapped back to her world in a daze. She hadn't know what just happened.
"Lucy!" She then realized Natsu'a presence and turned to him, still not quite in her right mind. "Lucy, what happened? Y-your eyes just..." He trailed off, opening and closing his mouth like a fish out of water.
Lucy furrowed her brows and fixated on him. "They what?" She asked firmly.
"They were...glowing. Your eyes turned white all of sudden and just... glowed." Natsu said.
