"Waters hows North High treating ya? Is the stick still up your ass?" Hanson smirked, tucking his helmet under his arm.
"You never were good at greetings were you?" I smiled up at him, letting go of stretching my leg.
"Fuck you." Hanson sneered, I stood up and felt equal to someone for once. Hanson being the same height as me.
"Hanson please, I am honored to be talking to the one and only South High quarterback. But I would never of imagined he would have such a potty mouth." I let a smug smile fall onto my face as Hanson tried controlling his anger.
"Don't act all high and mighty Waters, just because you go to a private school. We all know I can beat you in any sport I want." He glanced over at his team and then back at me. "Good luck, you're gonna need it." He smirked at me and quickly ran over to the other side of the field to his team.
2 WEEKS EARLIER
"D what is up, you have been silent since first period." Austin sat down next to me at the lunch table and I glanced at him.
"Nothing is up, just tired." I mumbled, taking a drink from my water bottle.
"Just tired my butt, you better be good for the game man." Trent said worriedly, sitting down across from me.
"Yeah that's really all we need you for." Austin said smirking at me. I rolled my eyes, seeing some girls laughing and looking at me. Skirts short as usually, with those dumb drawn on eyebrows. The flirty stares get so annoying and every girl starts to act the same towards me after awhile.
"Dakota." I blinked back into reality and saw Cole now sitting at the table.
"Those girls are hardcore staring at you, they will probably be at the part-" I glared at Cole.
"No party until the big rival game is over, I can not afford to lose any of my players to a dumb high school party." I scoffed out, glancing back at the table with the girls. One smiled at me innocently and waved, I ignored her and looked back at the boys.
"Jeez D, a little cold to them don't you think?" Austin chuckled, taking a bite of his sandwich.
"Not cold, just not interested." I retorted, seeing Vincent walking over. He smirked at the ladies when he walked past and winked. As he sat down I grinned up at him. "Really Vince?" He beamed over at me and pointed to the blonde sitting on the end of the table.
"Going to score tonight at the per-"
"No you are not." I cut him off, seeing his face deflate instantly.
"What, why?" He whined out.
"Because you are definitely one to get caught at the party." I claimed, seeing him become defensive.
"No I won't I haven't got caught in several months." I glared up at him.
"South High is going to look for a way to get our team in trouble, they play dirty. So I am not going to risk anything. You are all coming to my house tonight." I stated, tossing the rest of my lunch back into my bag.
"Sleepover at Dakota's?!" Austin squealed, I rolled my eyes and stood up.
"I will have more instructions after practice is over." I smiled at the boys and started out of the cafeteria. The halls were clean and bright like usual, this campus has over 1 million dollars poured into it. It is quite beautiful, but I wish they would have spent their money on what really matters; the education. Yes, the sports funding is nice and we have a great system supporting us. We get everything we want but I haven't learned anything I don't already know in any of my classes.
