Cydney was dragging through school.

She was pissed that her makeup didn't cover up the purple bruise on her face from her farther.

"Earth to Cydney." Aiyanna said.

"Oh I'm sorry, what did you say?"

"I said, I went to the doctor and they said the baby is doing fine."

"So your keeping it?"

"Yes."

"Are you ever gonna tell me who the farther yanna?" Cydney sighed.

It's been weeks and Aiyanna still didn't tell Cydney who the farther was.

She didn't know whether to be ashamed or scared.

"Soon cyd. Soon."

Later on that day Cydney was in her bedroom reading on Wattpad and eating snacks.

Her parents were at bible study so she had the house to herself finally.

A few knocks appeared on her door to her patio.

She got scared and grabbed her softball bat.

She moved the curtains revealing

"Rakim!" She sighed opening the door for him.

"What are you doing smoking on my patio?" She tried fanning the smell away.

Rakim put the blunt out.

"I had to check on you."

She locked her door back and moved her hair out of her face.

He saw her bruised cheek and got worried,

"Who did that?"

"My daddy." She laid on her bed.

She didn't even wanna think about what happened.

She's had a whooping before but not like that.

That wasn't even a whooping, that was abuse.

"What the fuck Cydney, what ya momma do?"

"Nothing." She began crying.

Rakim sat on her bed comforting her.

He rubbed her stomach and discovered another purple bruise.

He shook his head trying to calm down.

He hated to see niggas put their hands on females.

"Rakim."

"Yeah?"

"Can you stay for a little while?"

"You sure? Cause ion got time to beat yo daddy ass."

She nodded her head yes.

He got up and flicked the light off.

He kicked his shoes off and got in the bed laying beside her.

To say they were just friends was a understatement.

They're becoming more than friends.

They just didn't see it yet.
