Chapter 22

Lara’s POV

We stand gathered in a circle are arms swung over each other, today is the day we have worked for. All the tears, laughs and heartbreak has led to this day.

The X Factor Grand Finale.

The thumping of the crowd can be heard from backstage, people are rushing around panicked everywhere but we stand in a circle just focused on each other. “Alright girls this is it!” Beth says a wide smile upon her face. “We can win this!” Tealiah says confidently we all nod at each other knowing that we are capable to win this whole competition. “Hands in girls!” Hannah put her hand in the middle of the circle and we pile our hands on top of hers.

“1,2,3”

“GIRL CLASS!” We shout all together and we pile in for a massive group hug.

“Your on in 2 minutes” A lady dressed in black with a headpiece on and a clipboard in her arms says to us. My palms sweating and my stomach filled with millions butterflies, We hold hands and look at each other a nervous smile on each of our faces.

“It’s time” I say and collect my microphone and the girls follow. We stand at the stage wings I tap my foot nervously at our X Factor credits run. But I’m not focused on that a billion thoughts run through my mind. ‘How did 5 Australian girls make it this far in competition like this? It’s our time and its just beginning”

“INTRODUCING THE HOT CHICKS FROM OZ…….. GIRL CLASS” The announcer man’s voice fills the arena and we run onto the stage jumping with energy from the crowd. I look around in the audience people screaming our names, posters saying ‘We love you Lara’ filled the arena my eyes watered at the sight of our fans. I look over at the girls a huge smile on my face ‘Look how far we have come’. The lights darken and we take our positions I wait anxiously for the track to start.

"Straight off the plane to a new hotel

Just touched down, you could never tell" I sing

"A big house party with a crowded kitchen

People talk shh but we don't listen" Hannah's voice fills the arena

"Tell me that I'm wrong but I do what I please

Way too many people in the Addison Lee

Now I'm at the age when I know what I need, oh, whoa" Beth sings jumping around with heaps of energy

“One Direction Everybody!” Emily yells as the 1D boys run onto the stage

The music stops and the crowd cheers and whistles, The girls and I run up to each other and ump up and down with excitement. We all clear off the stage including the One Direction boys.

“Congratulations girls that was an awesome performance” Liam says. “Thankyou guys so much for letting us ‘borrow’ your song and for performing with us” Beth says thankfully and we all nod in agreement. I see Harry staring at me from the corner of my eyes I face him and I smirk his green eyes looking brighter than ever, he looks over at the doorway signalling that he wanted to go somewhere. I nod and follow him to a private room.

“You sung amazing tonight” Harry complements me “Is that what you brought me in here for?” I say jokingly, he giggles cutely and stares at me.

“I actually brought you here to ask you something?” Harry says licking his lips, a habit he usually did.

“Oh yeah and what is that Mr Styles?”

“I really do like you Lara, and the other day when you were crying about the fans messages It made me realise that if you were to leave and never speak to me again like all of those other girls I don’t know how I would live with myself. I need you with me, I need you by my side, I need your kiss, Lara I need you. Will you be my girlfriend?” I have never been spoken to by someone like this before. Harry cared about me, he made me forget about my dark past. He made me feel loved for once in my life.

“Of course Harry” I say a smile spreading across my face. Harry looked down at me he leaned closer to me our lips inches apart. He placed his strong arms around my lower back and I wrapped my arms around his neck. Our lips moving in sync, his perfectly plump soft lips connecting with mine.

 “Lara! We are- Omg I’m so sorry” Hannah barges in but immediately closes the door after seeing us kissing.

“well I guess they need me” I say laughing at what had just happened. “I guess so” Harry says sweetly he give me a quick peck on the lips. “Good luck beautiful” I hear Harry say as I rush out of the room to meet the girls. I run around backstage and finally find them.

“there you are we are about to go on stage to find out if we have won or not! But I guess you would rather snog one of England’s sexiest men” Beth says jokingly and I laugh it off. The nerves returning to my bad my hands shaking. We are guided onto the stage alongside the other two contestants.

“It was a close vote…” The host says dramatically. We all hold hands our palms sweating with anticipation.

“But you have voted and the UK X Factor winner for this year is….” The host pauses for what seems like minutes the crowd silenct awaiting the results ‘What if we don’t win? What’s going to happen to us? Will I still sing?’ The questions spun around in my head. My thoughts were interrupted

“GIRL CLASS!”

The audience screams and I drop to the ground not believing that we had actually won. I jump up and down excitedly. You know that feeling you get when you have worked really hard for something and it all pays off? This was one of those moments. Happy tears stream down my face as I embrace the girls. Confetti falling down from all around us. I feel an unfamiliar body wrapped around mine I quickly spun around to see Harry standing there. Harry quickly places his lips on mine, I was completely taken back by what he had just done on live television. He smiles at me sweetly and I wrap my arms around him.

“Congratulations babe, you deserve it” Harry says sweetly into my ear.

‘I guess I have one two things tonight’ I think to myself as I look out at the audience.
