Chapter 1

*Veronica's pov*

Beep Beep Beep!! I woke up to my alarm clock going haywire,the thing just won't shut up! I open my eyes to the sun eluminating the hole room of my New York pent house. Getting annoyed of the beeping I  slapped it off the bedside table and covered my head with my pillow.
"Good morning Ms. Denzel. Sorry to awake you but you have to be in the office in 2 hours you have meetings all day today."  I sighed hearing Allegra my personal assistants voice damn I got work to do.

Turning off my personal life now it's money making time.It's time for work I never got this far laying in bed all day doing nothing.
Getting up I fasten my robe and head to the dressing table to ready myself. I steer at my jade green eyes and wonder what to do with my dusty blonde hair.

Comming to no conclusion after 5 minutes I decide to go take a shower and come back to my hair and makeup.

After my warm shower I head back to the dressing table and decided on an up due and Revel London red lipstick and a little eye liner.

Realising I was on the verge of being late I walked into my big walk in closet and wondered around thinking what should the CEO of a big corporation wear on a day like this meeting clients and investors hmmm?

After a few minutes I decided on a red dress out of the many I own because reds my absolute favourite. I chose the one that fits me nicely and extenuates my curves, made me look like a boss that's in control and a beautiful woman that could spend hours on her appearance at the same time.

After I was done getting dressed and stayed 4 minutes in front of my full length mirror admiring myself I began heading down the marble staircase.

"Ms. Denzel! There you are mam we are late it's 9 already and you have a meeting with the companies shareholders to discuss the new and old businesses. Investors meeting follow after and three other consecutive meetings after" Allegra said upon seeing me.

"Okay,are my bags in the car and the documents for the new businesses packed?" I asked her while heading towards the main door with her trailing behind.

"Yes Ms. Denzel.I will pick you up breakfast and I instructed the chef to cook dinner for the hole of your family for later as you asked." While she was talking we made our way over to the car and Albert my driver opened the door to the limo for us to enter "Good. Check my cellphone for any messages from my mom or my sister. Albert take it easy please." He was rushing due the fact I was gonna be late but I rather not to get in an accident this morning and to be even later than I am already

"Sorry mam"he chimed with a hint of fear in his voice.
The way I treated my employees struck fear into thier hearts and I loved it that way. In a male dominated industry as a woman the slightest show of weakness will be your downfall and I Veronica Denzel doesn't fall to no man but God.

After 30 minutes I arrived at the office at 9:58 and took the private  elevator up to my office at the top floor. " Good morning mam. I will bring your coffee to you in 5 minutes" I hear my secutary say "Make it 3" I said in a clipped tone and went strait into my office closing the door.

My office was simple but with touches of me everywhere. The red couch, my red and black office chair, white desk and the black carpeting simple but gorgeous. On the walls were paintings from the glorious Mr. Venaldi a famous Greece artist the best of the best. Just as I took my seat my secutary  comes in with my coffee in hand good timing.

A few minutes passed when I got a call from my secutary saying the shareholders are here and that Allegra is on her way with my breakfast "Show the shareholders to the conference room al be there in a minute" with that I ended the call finished my coffee and made my way to the conference room.

As soon as I entered the room I saw him. Charles Marks the reason that I wake up empty and cold every morning the man who ripped me apart I knew if I stayed there I would break can never let people see me hurt never so I had to act professional and not let this rediscovered feeling of hurt show.

"Good morning gentlemen. I am aware that you all are concerned about your shares and the new businesses turns but I assure you your shares are safe and I regret to reschedule this meeting but I have more pressing matters for today I apologies. I will have my assistant contact you with a time. Thank you."

It was so hard to say that holding back the tears and with that I left moving fast as possible. Jumping into my my black Audi 500 parked in the garage for emergency's I drove away at full speed not caring where I go or what happened I just wanted to get away fast.

This was fun writing I enjoyed it Veronica is one tuff chick but it looks like she has a hell of a past poor girl. This book means alot to me I hope it empowers women . Not only men can make billions. I rest my case!
