The shrine god swung one of it's arms at Spyro. The vines connecting it to the body stretched, making the arm reach three times where it was supposed to.

"This guy's tough!" said Sparx. Spyro dodged another punch, and climbed  up onto its arm, and set it ablaze. The creature roared and threw the dragon off, and the flames died down. He had hurt it, but not enough.

So he tried electricity. The current shot through the creature, and it froze in place, twitching. Spyro stopped, exhausted, and the creature got back to it's feet.

"Come on, buddy, it's coming back!" said Sparx.

"I...I can't," said Spyro, "It's like I've run out of magic..."

"This is not a good time for that to happen!" shouted Sparx. The creature jumped at them, and pounded its fists to where Spyro had been standing only seconds before, him having jumped out of the way. However, his tail was caught in the slam, and a long wound was left in it.

He landed next to a strange crystal. It seemed to be glowing red and green. Spyro reached out his paw, and touched it.

A warmth began to flow through him. He felt stronger, more energised, and as he looked around, noticed that the cut in his tail was healing rapidly.

"These crystals must be magical!" said Spyro.

"Yeah, that's great 'n all, but we have bigger problems right now!" shouted Sparx. Spyro turned to face the shrine god again, who was moving large rocks out of the way to get to them.

Spyro narrowed his eyes, and conjured some magic. But it wasn't fire or electricity; it was a blast of ice, which chilled the air. The creature's movements began to lock up as it froze, and Spyro delivered a powerful blow to it's middle, which was so forceful it broke the vines connecting all of the creature's body parts together, leaving it as nothing more than a pile of stone rubble.

"How many more elements can you fit in there?" said Sparx. Spyro shrugged, and looked around. He noticed that Cyril was rising to his feet slowly.

"Are you okay?" asked Spyro.

"I'll be fine," said Cyril, "Thanks to you, old chap, I can finally leave. It's been a nightmare, I assure you."

They turned to see Kane and the Atlawa walking toward them.

"The apes have been driven out," said Kane, "And the shrine god's anger has been subdued. The tribe owe you, Spyro."

"Thank you," said Spyro.

"Please know that you are welcome here any time you wish," said Kane, "As far as we are concerned, you are an ally."

Spyro and Sparx returned to the dragon temple with Cyril some time later. Ignitus looked pleased at the sight of them.

"Spyro, you've returned," said Ignitus, "How are you, Cyril?"

"I've been better," said Cyril, "I have much to tell about Cynder."

"Did she use a crystal on you?" asked Ignitus.

"Yes," replied Cyril, confused, "How did you know?"

At that point, Volteer walked into the room.

"Cyril!" he exclaimed, "How simply pleasing to see you, old friend, I had thought until recently I was the only guardian left, but here are two of you, in the same day, as well, it's simply..."

"Yes, Volteer, I see that being tortured has done nothing to stop that electric tongue from constantly wagging," said Cyril bitterly.

"Both of you, please!" said Ignitus, "We have bigger matters to attain to here! Cyril, to answer your question, we know because she was doing the same to Volteer."

"Ah," said Cyril.

"Now," continued Ignitus, "While it is good that Spyro has freed two of you to allow this reunion, we are still one short."

"Yes, yes, of course," said Cyril, "Terrador!"

"Where can we find him?" asked Spyro.

"I have seen that Cynder is keeping him at Munitions forge, a gigantic mine that sits beneath a huge volcano. This will be your hardest mission yet, Cynder's fury has already spread as far as the forge, and I fear if you have not encountered her yet, you will when you get there," said Ignitus.

"Great," said Sparx.

"Being under a volcano, this place is practically always ablaze, so before you leave, Cyril should be able to teach you a few things about ice," said Ignitus.

"Certainly," said Cyril.

The ape captain fell to his knees, very scarred. Cynder turned away from him, trying to contain her anger.

"He is impossible to stop!" pleaded the captain, "He can control two elements, which makes him twice as strong as any other dragon!"

"That is impossible," said Cynder, "Only one dragon can master more than one element, and that one is long dead."

"It's true!" said the captain, "I've never seen that kind of dragon before! Purple, he was!"

Cynder looked back at him in shock.

"You're not lying," she said slowly, "You wouldn't know about that, unless you'd seen it. The dark master will not be pleased, you know that?"

"Why not?" asked the ape.

"Because the fact he is alive means you've failed him in ways you can't even imagine," said Cynder, "I almost pity you. Send re-enforcements to Munitions forge, and alert me when he arrives. I'll have a little surprise for him when he gets there."

"What are you planning?" asked the ape. Cynder sneered.

"You'll see," she replied.
