Anaya's povI never knew Aahil had it so tough. It's nearly worse than mine and I feel guilty for ever fighting with him.
"Aahil?" I call and he hums in response.
"Allah is always with you in bad times and good times. In difficulty you should turn to him." I advise, knowingly.
"No he's the one that did all this that turned my life over."he says angrily.
"Everything happens for a reason. Allah plans everything for your better." I promise
"You know she's right." Another voice says from the door. Leaning on the doorframe is an elderly looking man who I suppose is Aahil's dad.
"Dad this is Anaya, Anaya this is dad." Aahil informs. We both say salaam to each other and his dad looks questioningly to Aahil.
"So is this a potential wife?" Uncle asks in amusement. We both look at each other in horror.
"Dadddddd.!" Aahil says as we have both blushed red.
"So is that's a no?" Uncle asks.
"Maybeee." Aahil says teasing and winks at me as I turn even more red.
"So why are we awake at this hour my dear children." He asks lovingly and my heart melts. I miss this relationship with my dad.
"We came back from Brooke hills and it's too late to take her to her house so I brought her here." He says and excuses himself to go to the bathroom.
"So who is your dad habibti." Uncle questions.
"Errmmmmm, my.. My dad.. Has... Passed away." I say quietly. He looked at me sympathetically and nodded.
"So you live with your mother?" He asks.
"No uncle, my mom and dad passed away in accident. I live with my five brothers. One of my brothers is one year older than me hence he is friends with Aahil that is why I know Aahil." I explain and the look of pity returns again which is then replaced with astonishment.
"Five brothers. Wow, mashallah. So is your brother Amir?"
"Yes uncle. The oldest is Ahmed, who has a wife called Asma, then it's Abid then Adil then Ayyan then Amir then finally me."
"So you're sandwiched between such loving brothers?"
"Indeed uncle, I love my brothers." I reply.
"So what work do your brother do? Where abouts do you live?"
" Ahmed, Abid, Adil and Ayyan work in our family company which are the Lorreti hotels and we live here on Landon st." I say.
"Really. Oh wow that company has sky rocketed. You're in the top five hotels in the world and those houses are massive mashallah." He says impressed. He runs off to find something and Aahil comes into the room.
"Was my dad interrogating you?" He asks.
"Nope. Just asking natural questions." I reply.
"You sure?" He asks suspiciously and I nod. His dad comes rushing back in the room startling both me and Aahil.
"Look I've found it. Is this you?" He points to a magazine with two posters on one side there's Aahil on the other me.
"I suppose." I instantly say shrugging my shoulders.
"Wow. This is such a coincidence. I kept this picture because this is the picture that Aahil insists that he looks the best it." He explains and I chuckle but abruptly stop and take a shaky breath as I see Aahil looking at me.
"Come on dad I'm sure Anaya wants to sleep." Aahil says.
"It's fine.." I start to say but Aahil cuts me off and drags me away.
"Asalamualykum uncle." I manage to say as Aahil tugs at my arms.
He shows me into my beautiful room and I gasp as I touch the curtains around the bed. Aahil watches me but I take no notice as I step out of onto the amazing balcony. The view is breathtaking and I feel like flying. My hands grip the balcony rail and Aahil joins me. The silence is not awkward but it's comfortable. Aahil's hand slowly moves and folds over mine. I look up and he gives me a reassuring smile so I breath and let it go but my heart is galloping like the wind. After a couple of minutes standing there it starts to get a bit chilly and I don't notice that I'm shivering but Aahil does. He takes of his jacket and I look at him questioningly but he gets it and puts the jacket over my shoulders like a gentleman.
"Ermmmm thank you" I say.
"Don't think about it."It's been more than an hour and we've just been standing here thinking about the past, present and future in various ways. Unknowingly I start to yawn as it's very late now..
"Come on we better get to bed now." He says to me. I agree and we both go inside, as he shuts the balcony door I take of his jacket and give it to him. He nods a goodbye and is about to leave but stops in his tracks and slowly turns around. He digs in his pocket and takes out a small magazine page.
"The picture my dad showed you used to be my favorite picture but now it's this one" he says. As he closes the door he tosses the magazine page on the bed and winks at me.
Getting comfy in this large bed wasn't hard so I settle down and pick up the magazine. It's a picture of me and him with his arm around me on the day of the vets and getting Alvin. Butterfly's erupt happily inside me as I trace the picture with my finger. How was the chapter, hope you liked it!
