Anaya's pov

And I do exactly what he says,I drop it.
I chuck far across the room and Aahil's smirk appears.

"Don't Aahil." I say. "It might not mean anything to you but it means the world to me."
Aahil turns and I meet the most intense eyes I've ever seen.

"Look in these eyes Anaya, don't you see what you're finding?" He asks softly and I can't disagree, as his eyes hold a mixture of amazing emotions.

He takes a step closer yet I don't step back, instead I return his emotions through my eyes. Our foreheads touch and he gently moves my hair away from my ear, his lips travel to my ears and leave a red blush wherever his warm breath touches me.

"Wait." He whispers into my ear and I feel him move away, the warm breath no more. As I open my eyes I see Aahil on the balcony and I turn to him but the door opens and Aahil swiftly hides on the side of the balcony that can no longer be seen.

"Anaya? What are you doing here?" Harris asks.
"Oh Harris! Just having a breather but let's go now." I reply and he holds out his hand for me to grab. I hold it but Harris stops and my heart beats a hundred miles an hour.

"Anaya?" He asks. He's spotted Aahil.

"Is that your ring?" He questions and I breathe a sigh of relief.
"Yes it's mine, I must have dropped it." I say walking towards it.

"You've never worn it before?"
"Oh it means to much to me, so I save it for special days like today." I add and from the corners of my eyes see Aahil smirk.

"Oh god just dance, have fun!" I say to my brothers and call a few of my friends to dance with Abid and Adil, I would pair Ayyan but already see him with a couple of girls by his side.

"Player.." Amir mutters under his breath, following my gaze.

"Please, just dance with someone" I plead to a pretty bored Amir.

"Believe it or not, Saima will have my head in a plate." Amir replies, his eyes holding a special shine. Finally Saima and Amir got engaged two months ago, right here in New York, as I was unable to be in LA.

"Good you deserve it!" Ahmed replies moodily and I side hug him.

"Awww someone missing bhabi and Arham?" I question and receive a long lost look.
"Anaya... Arham misses you." He replies, procrastinating.

"I miss him too but you can bring him next week, if you can... You know I can't come LA" I say but before he can reply, Harris arrives.

"Hey.... Do you want to dance?" He asks.
"Sure." I reply.

He leads me out to the middle of the dance floor and we slow dance to the now slow music, I would enjoy it but I can see Aahil's steely glare on both of us.

"Just dance, stop worrying." Harris whispers and I nod, it's not fair on Harris.
We shuffle with an occasional twirl and twist, then the moment comes and he spins me far. I close my eyes and the next pair of hand grab hold of me. A tradition in this dance is that you twirl and swap partners half way through.

I open my eyes.

"Aahil!"
"Shush!" He whispers in my ears.
This dance is like no other, his hands gripping me by my waist, shooting electric currents everywhere. I lean forward, craving his touch and put my head on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry Anaya" he begins and I give in and just listen to him.

"I was wrong Anaya, I need you.... I crave you. At the beginning I thought I could do it, I was foolish enough to think I could live without you. Then it all stopped, the day I saw him... I realized I couldn't."

"Saw who?" I ask, not lifting my head. When Aahil remained silent I repeated my question.
"Aahil?"

"Arham. He was in the mall with Asma and he got lost. I picked him up and everything came rushing back. The little Arham didn't know how many things changed on the day he was born. When I returned him, Asma wasn't happy to see me but I tried to beg her to tell me where you were and she refused." He continues.

"And the search began. From Santa Monica to even as far as Texas, then I came to New York and I thought I saw you but you had disappeared and I made up my mind that I was mistaken and that she wasn't you. That was last year and now I know that that was you. Please come back Anaya" He concludes and I look up, the party and people disappearing.

His eyes are earnest and they travel to my lips. Leaning forward his lips merely a touch away from mine but he moves them to my ear instead, pushing back my hair.
"Wait." He whispers and as I open my eyes, once again he's gone.

I scan my eyes over the party but only see Amir looking at me, a protective gaze fallen over his eyes.
He strolls towards me, surprisingly no angry but maybe I got it wrong.
"Come." He says, I take his hand and follow him out the party.

"Couldn't you wait?" He says and my jaw falls open as I was expecting a lecture.
"What?"
"Aahil makes you happy but if he breaks your heart than I will break him. Go to him and find him." He says his eyes twinkling in a way I've never seen before.

"I'm sorry Amir, I just can't trust him. What he did broke me, I don't think I'm ready to forget." I say sadly but Amir understands and let's me go.

When I return to Harris he is happy and content with the way things worked out.
"I've invited your brothers and Aahil over for dinner at about 11:00." Harris says and I mentally face plant myself.

"Yeah that sounds good." I say then turn to bhaiya.
"What time you guys going?" I question.

"The jet will be prepared for 1:00 but if we need more time then I'm show Andre will be in no hurry." Bhaiya answers, Andre is our pilot for the jet and he's super nice.

"Oh okay. What about Aahil?" I ask Harris.
"He is leaving tomorrow morning at 10" Harris replies and I sigh in relief.
My life will be back to normal by tomorrow morning!
