Anaya's pov

"Looking for me?" A deep voice makes me spin, immediately. aahil.
"What? But you went. You're jet..." I stutter confused.

"If my jet left then you are looking at a jinn." He said with so much sarcasm that I instantly regretted caring for him.

"What are you doing here?" He asks fully knowing the answer to his question and if he wanted to play dirty then I could join him and beat him at his own game.

"I was thinking of buying a jet so I could travel the world with Harris and my son.." I say clearly lying and as soon as I say that the light leaves Aahil's eyes and I wish I could be the one to bring it back.

I do something which I would never imagine to do.
I run to him and hug him.

The hug was welcoming yet intimate.
Aahil was fast to embrace me and my head easily slotted through the crook of his neck.
We fit like a jigsaw puzzle.
"More a puzzle than a jigsaw." Aahil whispered and released me.

"Sorry?" I questioned tilting my head to the side.
"You said that out loud, darling." He added leading me on to the jet.

He chased me and now it was my turn to chase him.

As the jet set off we both settled in for a two hour flight.
His jet was designed immaculately with not a thread out of place.

"I gotta say, I'm impressed with your jet." I say breaking the uncomfortable silence.
"My father designed it and I'm sure yours isn't as bad." He replied.

"How is uncle doing?" I ask, changing the subject and ignoring his remark.
"Dad's doing fine but I don't live with him anymore."
"You don't?" I ask, surprised.

"No I purchased a apartment closer to work and seeing as I'm getting engaged in a week, it all works out." He explains and my eyes go as big as the moon -- no bigger than the moon.

"You're getting engaged?" I ask, nonchalantly or trying to be anyway.
"Yeah her name is Layla and she is just the best."
"But...." I trail off not knowing what to say.

"I thought you'd be happy for me." He says clearly hurt and I regret even thinking otherwise.
"I am happy for you." I reply hastily.
"What did you think, huh? That just because you came back everything would go back to normal. Anaya you had a kid." He says angrily.

"Harris isn't my husband and Aryan isn't my child." I say quickly and not thinking. He raises a single arched eyebrow in question.
"I was hired as a nanny for Aryan when he was young, that is why he calls me mum." I explain but he doesn't reply.

Nor does he say anything for the rest of the flight and I leave him to his silence.

On seeing a tall man searching left and right for his little sister, I run up to him and hug him.
Amir.
"I knew you'd come back." He says cupping my cheeks and his kindness is so overwhelming that I start to cry.
He immediately hugs me tightly. No questions and no hesitation.

"What's wrong?" Amir asks, his eyebrows furrowed in worry.
"I need him Amir." I whisper knowing that Aahil is just a few feet away.
"I know. Patience, you can have him." He says soothingly probably not knowing that Aahil is going to get engaged in a week.
I'm a bout to tell him but Aahil interrupts my thoughts by tapping on my shoulder.

"What's wrong? Are you alright?" He asks immediately and it gives me a glimmer of hope. He still cares.
"Nothing just happy to be back." I reply quickly. His eyebrow arches in suspicion but he doesn't say anything.

"Okay. Here." He says, instead, handing me a gold envelope. I open it up to find an invitation to an engagement.
His engagement.

"You're invited to my engagement. Hope you can come! You and Amir." He mutters and walks away.
It's a shame he won't budge from my heart.

There you go! It's the last day of my Christmas break so back to school tomorrow. I'll be updating in a week or two hopefully. Until then:
