AT the Mikaelson Mansion—the next morning, Brielle is sitting cross-legged on the floor in Elijah's bedroom with Hayley as she reads out loud--one of Elijah's thick, leather-bound journals.

"August 1359." The queen doppelganger begins reading to herself and wolf friend. "I have noticed a difference in my siblings. Our bond strains beneath the pressure of our life as vampires. Each day removes them further from the humanity we once possessed. My sweet sister, Rebekah, has grown quite indifferent to brutality." Brielle pauses, remembering how Rebekah and her viciously killed the vampires who tried to attack Hayley in the French Quarter. Brielle clears her throat, slightly embarrassed by her actions. "However, the true problem remains my brother, Niklaus."

Hayley remembers how Klaus poured gasoline over the bodies of the nightwalkers the female Originals killed to protect Hayley, which are piled up in the front yard of the Mikaelson Mansion.

Hayley looks at Brielle and gestures toward the book. "Can I . . .?" The Viktorova nods and hands the book over so Hayley could read. "He continues to hide his loneliness with cruelty. Still, I cling to the hope that I, as their eldest brother, can lead them down the correct path, a path charged with the power of a family united. For if I fail, our family's legacy will end in darkness." The girls stop reading and walk downstairs with the journal in Hayley's hands to find Rebekah and Klaus talking in the foyer.

Rebekah pouts at her older brother. "I cannot believe you disposed of those vampires without me. You know how I love to set things on fire!"

Brielle leans against a wall, crossing her arms as she rolled her eyes at the siblings bicker. Truth be told, she loved when they did. It gave her a warm feeling that she missed the month away from them. But she wasn't going to admit that.

Klaus smirked at her. "Was I supposed to leave them in the front yard to rot? Besides, they were my responsibility. They attacked the helpless wolf girl who's sleeping with my best friend." Brielle snickered at that while Hayley blushed. "Besides, Brielle had to help fight them off and she's pregnant with our child! I wasn't going to let them easily die."

It was Rebekah's time to roll her eyes. "Oh, I am so moved by your new-found sense of fatherly and best friendly duties towards the tribrid carrying your hybrid bun in her oven."

Brielle steps in. "But are we sure it's a hybrid? I mean I am a tribrid. Also, what if there are more than one buns in my oven?" She raised an eyebrow as both Mikaelson siblings looked in her and Hayley's direction.

"The werewolf would like to know what the plan is." Hayley said with an attitude, crossing her arms.

"Well, that depends what plan you mean, love--my plan for global domination, or Rebekah's plan to find love in a cruel, cruel world?" Klaus asks Hayley in a joking-sarcastic manner.

Annoyed by him, Rebekah takes a pencil from the desk beside her and throws it in Klaus' direction. Klaus catches it easily before it can embed itself in his face.

"Damnit Bekah, you missed." Brielle said in disappointment, throwing her hands in the air. "We were this close to being moms together. This close." Rebekah laughs as Klaus glares at the tribrid.

Hayley sighs, bring the attention back on her. "The plan to rescue Elijah. You know, the good brother? The one who is now in the possession of your mortal enemy after you stabbed him in the back?"
