*Jack's POV*

So far, Ethan was my only friend. To be honest, for a geeky and shy person like me, I thought I wouldn't make a lot of friends. But meeting someone great and kind right away on the first day of college is insane for me. Well, I shouldn't overreact.

We walked down the stone path that led to a small, yet relatively giant looking building which I assumed was the dorms. With one hand grabbing onto the bag tightly and the other playing with my sleeve, I finally spoke after some time.

"Um, are we here?" My voice shook a bit, I was actually pretty nervous.

"Yeah! Come on, let's get you registered at the reception." Ethan smiled happily and, without any warning, grabbed my hand and we ran into the building.

The door burst open and Ethan let go of my hand, turning quickly and running to the reception. He talked to the lady at the counter and turned over his glance to me, signaling me to come over to him. I slowly made my way over and stiffed myself in one place.

"So, what's your name?" The nice old lady at the counter broke the silence.

"Oh, um... I, uh-" My lips were moving awkwardly and not a single word that left my mouth was understandable.

"Oh, don't worry sweetheart. Just take a deep breath, think it, then say it." She giggled at my shyness and I blushed a bit.

"Um, I-I'm Sean McLoughlin. But, I prefer J-Jack." I stuttered a bit, but managed to make out the words properly.

"Sure, anything for a cutie pie like you." She smiled brightly and typed my name into the computer.

She finished and opened a small drawer, giving me a key with a number on it.

"Okay, you're room in up those stairs on the second floor and about 30 feet away, to the left." She pointed at the stairs next to the main entrance.

I nodded and looked at the blue boy standing next to me, who sparkled and gave me two thumbs up, making my heart skip a beat by the amount of kindness I was receiving. I turned around and slowly made my way to the stairs and, being the stupid and zoned out me, accidentally bumped into someone who was entering into the building.

I was about to apologise, but I was stopped by a strong force that I felt on my chest. I stumbled back, dropping my bag and falling onto my back. Ethan gasped and ran over to me, I couldn't get up because I felt paralysed.

"Ugh, you again?" A familiar baritone voice rang in my ears and I looked up, my eyes widening.

"What's the big idea? You scared or something?" The one and only, Mark, stood infront of me and stomped his foot impatiently, waiting for an answer.

"N-No, I was.. Uh, I was j-jus-" My voice shook, I felt numb under his presence.

"Just because you are new here doesn't mean that you can go all willy nilly and bump into people." He spat at me, making me shiver.

Ethan's face was burning with rage. He walked infront of me and pushed Mark a bit.

'What!? Is he crazy!? Does he want himself to get badly hurt or something!?' That thought was spinning around in my head like a carousel.

"Ohoho, acting tough are we? Like you could do something to me?" Mark cracked his knuckles, looking at Ethan dead in the eye.

Unfortunately, Mark was kinda right. He was almost twice Ethan's size and, by the looks of it, he can literally stomp on him.

"I'm not gonna fight you, okay? Just... Don't touch him. He doesn't deserve it." Ethan finally spoke up.

"Aww, Ethan's got a boyfriend!" Mark made, to be honest, kind of a cute face and pinched Ethan's face, teasing him.

He earned a few laughs from other people, which made me blush a crimson red from embarrassment. The blue haired boy just laughed it off like it was nothing and grabbed my hand, taking me upstairs as fast as he could.

We walked up the stairs and Ethan turned, taking a sharp left turn. I felt zoned out for a moment, but Ethan's sudden break of silence got me back.

"Don't worry about those assholes, you're too good for them." His kindness was literally over 9000.

"O-Oh, okay." I kept my head low as we walked down the long corridor.

"Well, here we are. Room A213." Ethan looked at the door proudly, like a kid when they get their first A on an exam.

"Heh, yeah. Looks like we have." I took out the key from my back pocket and put it in the lock, but the door was already unlocked.

I was stunned for a second, not moving a single muscle.

'I'm going to have a roommate!? Could this day get any more surprising?' I slightly chuckled at the thought.

I knocked on the door and slowly opened it, already seeing a figure infront of me.

"Um, may I help you?" A tall boy with curly hair looked at me confusingly, but grinned when he noticed Ethan behind me.

"Hey, Tyler. This is your new roommate you're expecting." Ethan explained.

"Oh, I just got an E-mail a minute ago. Jack, right?" Tyler scratched the back of his neck and stretched out his hand, waiting for me to shake it.

"Um, y-yeah. I-I'm Jack. Nice t-to meet you." I kept stuttering when I met someone new, but it was normal for me.

I shook his hand and he gave me a heartwarming smile. I felt Ethan tap my shoulder, making me turn to him.

"I gotta head to class right now, so I'll catch up with you later, okay?" He said, shifting his gaze to Tyler. "Take good care of him, will ya?"

Tyler nodded and Ethan gave me a small piece of paper with something scribbled on it.

"That's my number and my E-mail. Call me if ya ever need anything." I nodded and he ran off, waving back at me.

"So, uh. Wanna come in?" Tyler suggested and I chuckled.

"Sure, it's my room after all." He smiled at my little joke and let me in.

The room was way bigger than I expected it to be. A bunk bed, a flat screen TV, two computers, a sofa, a mini fridge and a balcony.

'Okay, this place is so damn amazing.' I thought to myself as I looked around the room.

"Yeah, I know how you feel. Had the same look you have when I first entered this room." Tyler chimed in as he closed the door behind him.

I nodded and put my stuff down, climbing onto the top bed and shifting on the covers.

"I love this room already." Tyler chuckled at my response and sat down on the sofa.

'Now, I have officially settled in.'
