Chapter 2

Maddie's

When I woke up, I did my morning rituals na. It's our last day here in Thailand but I don't know how will I spend it. Kasi you know, may kanya-kanyang lakad teammates ko and nakakahiya namang sumama.

So I'll go with Twinny nalang siguro. I approached her. "Uhm T, anong plans mo today?" She looked at me while smiling. Oh I know na.

"Shopping? T? There's a lot of malls in our country naman eh." Eh kasi naman. Shopping?

"Eh Twinny, I will buy pasalubongs to my relatives." Sabagay. "Okay I'll change then let's go na?" She nodded lang coz busy siya choosing what she'll wear.

I'm wearing my usual get up. Shorts and shirts lang. Coz why not? I'm using my white converse rin.

"T let's go na kasi!" Eh kasi naman kanina pa kami rito pero she always said na saglit lang daw.

"Eto na wait lang nasan na ba kasi yun?" She said. " Eh sino ba kas---"

"Oh! Finally! There you are!" What? Bea?

"Oh Twinnie, she'll join us daw." She said smiling at me na parang nang-aasar.

"Oh why Bei? Where's Jho?" I said.

I can't help it eh. Bat kasi sasama siya samin.

"Why Mads? You don't want to be with me ba? I missed you and Tey na kaya." She said back while grinning.

I made a face nalang kahit andami ko pang gustong sabihin.

Andito kami ngayon sa harap ng hotel waiting for a taxi. When the taxi arrived I look at Bea and Tey and said "Hey, how we'll gonna talk to him?" Referring to the taxi driver. Wala kayang marunong mag thai dito.

"Pano ba tayo makipag-usap kay Coach Tai?" Bea said. I rolled my eyes.

Bahala nga kayo diyan. Di niyo din naman alam kung san yung mall dito.

Bea started talking to the driver. "Goodmorning! We'll go to mall." Hahaha duh! We'll go to mall? Really?

Then the driver looked at her na parang nagtatanong. Bea looked at us na parang nanghihingi ng tulong. Sus. Bahala ka diyan.

"Uhm...." Wala siyang masabi hahaha. Nagsalita na nga 'ko kawawa naman si Bea hahaha. "Bring us to nearest mall here, Sir." Then the driver just gave me a thumbs up.

When we arrived here at the mall. I don't know the name I can't read thai kasi.

I looked at Tey, and as usual tuwang-tuwa na naman siya she really loves shopping talaga. On the other hand, Bea was standing with a swag. Para namang artista tong babaeng 'to, nakashades na nga naka-cap pa. Kahiya sakanila ha.

"San tayo?" I asked kasi I don't know where to go talaga.

"Uhm you know guys I should leave you two. I really need to be alone din naman. Hehe peace!" Omygad what the hell?!

"What?! No Therese I'll join you nalang!" I said.

I really don't want to be alone with her. I just can't. But knowing Tey, she knows kasi that I really have feelings for Bea back then. She starts running. And by that, I know no one can stop her.

So here I am, alone with the beast.

"So Mads, where do you wanna go?"

"Bahala ka." Sambit ko at inirapan siya.

"C'mon Mads. Still bitter huh?" Aba ang kapal!

"Ang kapal ng mukha mo!"

"Hahaha kidding. Where nga kasi? We're just standing here like yesterday pa you know?" OA naman nito.

"Eh di ko nga kasi alam. Mukha ba kong thai?!" Like duh! Mas mukha kaya kong chinese.

"Hahaha cute mo."

"What?" Parang tanga kasi to. Kainis.

"Nothing hahaha. Let's try their food nalang."

I just nodded then we entered some fancy restaurant. Di pa nga lunch kakain na agad kami.

"Bea mahal dito oh." Ang mahal kasi talaga. Swear.

"It's my treat naman so don't worry."

"Sige ha treat mo." Nako maghirap ka De Leon wahahaha.

I ordered and ordered and ordered. Libre ni Bea kaya lubos-lubusin na.

"Mauubos mo yan Mads?" I just nodded at pumili na ko ng desserts and drinks.

Nung dumating yung mga order we started eating. Walang nagsasalita. Don't worry ganito talaga kami pag may pagkain sa harapan.

When we finished our meal. Dumating yung dessert. And I know Bea will start talking nanaman.

"So Mads how are you?" I'm currently eating my ice cream then Bea said those things.

"What?" I said na natatawa kasi naman we're always together naman. Well, with our teammates.

"Don't laugh I'm serious here Mads." She said seriously.

"Okay. Okaaay. To answer your question. I'm fine. I'm totally fine." I honestly said. I'm fine naman talaga. Well, physically. Emotionally? Not totally.

"Really?" Tf did she think that I'm not okay because of her?!

"You know Bei, past is past. I've move on."

"Hahahaha good. May gusto ka pa ba?" Sa dami kong nakain tingin niya kaya ko pa?

"Ikaw."

"A-ako?" She said na parang di makapaniwala.

"Oo ikaw. How are you?" Anuba Bea lula lang?

"Ah hehe. Oks lang naman."

"Kayo ni Jho?" I suddenly ask. Tumingin ako kay Bea na mukhang nagulat. Pati kaya ko nagulat sa sarili kong tanong.

"Well, I mean-"

"We're okay. The usual." She cutted me off.

"Ah." Jusko ang awkward tuloy.

Sa kalagitnaan ng katahimikan.

"Uhm Mads." Tawag sakin ni Bea

"Hm?"

"Can we act like the old times?"

That question got me shocked. Really Bea? Are you asking me that? In the first place, it's you who made distance to me.

"I mean... yung dating tayo. Bestfriends. Batchies. Can we forget what happened on the past kasi as you said past is past naman diba?"

I nodded in response. Wala kong masabi. Di ko alam kung magagalit ba ko o matutuwa. Magagalit dahil hinihiling niya na kalimutan ang nangyari sa pagitan naming dalawa o matutuwa dahil hiniling niya pa rin na ibalik lahat sa dati... yung masaya lang. Walang ilangan.

"Okay soooo... batchies?" She offered her hand.

I smiled and hugged her instead. "Bestfriends."

Maybe it's time. To let go. To let go of the feelings that keeping me from moving on. I guess me and Bea are really just bestfriends.
