The ride to Pet Smart was a lot easier than the last few. Not so many cars this time, and I actually knew where I was going after a certain point. When I arrive I get out of the car, lock it and walk through the front doors. The second I step foot inside I was hit with a putrid smell, most likely from the bird cages sitting directly in front of me.
I hold my breath and rush by them to the dog section, when I arrive I'm gasping for air. The smell wasn't fully gone but it also wasn't as strong as before so I can't complain. I look around to find some dog food for Bear, doesn't take long to locate his favorite brand of Purina. I grab it and walk up to a bin of dog toys.
I set the food on the floor and rummage through the many different assortments of toys. Each toy I grab ends up being thrown to the side with a dissatisfied grunt. As I begin to get irritated by the toys an employee walks up to.
"Can I help you with something ma'am?" He says with a small. I look him up and down for a bit until my eyes glance at his name tag.
I flick the corner of it, "Todd, is it?" I say and look at his face as he gives me a small nod. "Yea, hi. So I'm looking for toys to get my puppy Bear, but I don't know what to get him. He's kind of picky about what he plays with."
"Well as you can see at Pet Smart we have plenty of toys for your puppy to have fun with. But if he's picky I would suggest watching his behavior when he plays, notice his interests and then go from there. If he's active get him a frisbee or a ball to play fetch with. If he's lazy get him a squeaky toy or maybe try just simply getting him a new bed." He says while pointing at things in the aisle.
I shake my head yes when he asks if he was any help. I tell him thank you and he walks away. I decide to grab a squeaky toy and ball then call it good. I exit the aisle and walk to check out. On my way there I see Todd finishing ringing up someone's items. I set my things down and he picks them up. Then I pay for them and head for the doors. As I walk outside I see the suns going down. I get into my car and as the engine starts my stomach rumbles. With a sigh, I decide to pick something quick and cheap up from Mcdonalds on the way home.
When I get there the drive-thru is surprisingly empty. I slowly pull up to the intercom and order some chicken nuggets with a medium coke. I drive to the window and hand the lady my card and in return, I receive my food. I tell her thank you as she closes the window. I set the bag in the passenger seat and turn out onto the street to drive home.

After a 30 minute drive, I arrive home, as I get out of the car I grab my food and the bags from the back seat. I lock the car then slam the door shut. I walk up to the front door and turn the key in the lock. As I walk inside I find Bear sleeping on the couch. With a small smile on my face, I walk into the kitchen to set the bags on the table. I pull the chair out and sit down, then take the food out of its bag. After about three nuggets I throw the container into the fridge and dump the drink down the sink. I grab the bags and take them into my room.
I close the door behind me after Bear follows me in. He jumps up onto the bed and goes back to sleep. I throw the clothes into my laundry basket and set Bears toys in the corner with the rest of them. I change into my pajamas and climb into bed. After sitting down I grab the application from the cafe and begin to fill it out. About halfway through I start to doze off.
I sit up with a gasp and then give out a quiet hmpf. I set the paper and pen on my nightstand and proceed to turn the light off. As I lie down Bear curls up by my feet. I gently exhale and nod off to sleep. It's been a productive day.
